I check into a small hotel a few kilometers from Kiev. It is late. I am tired. I tell the woman at the desk I want a room. She tells me the room number and give me a key. "But one more thing comrade; there is one room without number and always lock. Don't even peek in there. "I collect the key and go to room to sleep. Night comes and I hear trickling of water. It is coming from the room with no number. I pound on the door. No response. I look through the keyhole. I see nothing except red. Water is still trickling. I went down to the desk room to complaint. "By the way who is in that room?" She look at me and begin to tell a story. There was a woman and her husband in there. Every night they would quarrel because of various reason but one night while the wife was talking a bath her husband started to strangle her and killed her. Since that day you could hear the water from the shower falling at night. And if you look her in the eyes it is said that you will die. I felt a relieve that I didn't look her in the eye. "And one more thing sir," said the woman. Her eyes were red.
