Description: On your sixteenth birthday, the first words your soulmate says to you are engraved on your wrist.
Sherwin and Jonathan haven't met in this AU for obvious reasons
————————————————————————Sherwin's alarm clock blared the annoyingly loud sound through his bedroom, he let a groan escape his lips, rubbing his eyes and moving his hand around his bedside table to try and turn his alarm off.
"What day is it?" Sherwin muttered to himself, propping up onto his elbows and looking at his calendar next to his bedroom.
Sherwin looked at the date and soon realised it was his birthday, meaning he can find out what his soulmate says to him.
He rolled up his sleeves of his pyjama top, looking at both of his wrists to find the writing engraved onto one of them.
'Wanna be my—' Sherwin looked at his wrist, thinking of the different things the boy could have said. He rubbed his thumb over the writing a few times, checking to see if there were any words he forgot to read, but, there was nothing.
Sherwin decided to forget about it until the time came, he got out of his bed, walked into his bathroom and brushed his teeth, making sure their as white as he can make them.
The ginger boy finished brushing his teeth and walked back into his bedroom, opening his wardrobe and picking out his uniform, a white button-up shirt, yellow tie, dark blue jumper and grey pants.
Sherwin changed into his uniform, fixing his tie and walking over to his sock drawer, picking out a pair of plain black socks, pulling them onto both of his feet.
He walked down that the stairs, quickly greeted by his mum, she wrapped her arms around him, kissing his forehead.
"Happy birthday, kiddo." She said, letting go of him and rubbing his already curly hair."I made you some birthday pancakes."
"With chocolate syrup?"
"Like every year, sweetheart."Sherwin sat at the table, quickly eating his pancakes and running of to school, kissing his mum on the cheek first and yelling a quick 'I love you' as he ran out the house.
Sherwin ran into the school building, quickly halting to a walk when he stepped through the doors, slipping his thumbs under the straps of his backpack.
He walked towards his locker before seeing someone stood in front of it, Jonathan, his crush, his hands behind his back, most likely holding a gift for someone.
Sherwin kept his head down, walking to his locker and opening it, grabbing a few books out of his bag and putting them onto the different shelves in his locker.
The ginger boy felt a tap on his shoulder, he closed his locker and was met face-to-face with Jonathan, Sherwin felt a red hue creep onto his face, his eyes wide from the sudden closeness.
Jonathan moved his hands from behind his back and showed a single flower in his right hand.
"Wanna be my—'' Jonathan was cut off by one of his friends, Sherwin assumed he was anyway.Sherwin quickly remembered the words on his wrist, he rolled up both of the sleeves over his arm just to make sure.
'Wanna be my—' Jonathan was his soulmate, he couldn't believe it.
He quickly rolled down his sleeve, looking back up at Jonathan and gave him a bright smile.
"What were you saying?" Sherwin asked, the tanned boys eyes went wide with shock, he rolled up his sleeves, his eyes slowly softened as he looked back up at Sherwin with a smile."So, I was gonna ask," He started, "Do you wanna be my date to the dance?" Jonathan turned the flower around in his thumb and index finger, scratching the back of his neck with his left hand.
"Of course." Sherwin kisses Jonathan on the cheek, walking to his first class and turning to face Jonathan, smiling softly at him.
