Empty Arms

Chapter 4

In the pearl light of the moon did she mutter my name for the first time.
And for the first time did my name sound so good.

"How was she?" Mrs. Jung asked Hoseok as soon as the Choi's car drove away.

Hoseok closed his eyes for a second.

"She was good."

Not that my opinion ever mattered.

Without uttering a word, he motioned his body guard to get into the driver's seat.

Then the car drove away from the hotel.

Everything seemed to be messed up. Hoseok did not know what to think of. For him it was something totally out of his little universe. He would wake up, go to work, would return late, would go to business trip and then again go to work. He would have occasional conversations with Namjoon and Yoongi but they are busy as well. Meeting a woman and planning a wedding was something that made him ponder upon a lot of things.

What is it going to be like living with a girl?

What is it going to be like getting married?

What is it going to be like having a family of my own?

Will it ever turn out well?

Will we end up getting divorced?

Will we be able to get along?

After a long time, Hoseok was thinking about his own future. He would always think about his company's future, but never his own. He would always think about his past, and for the first time in years, he's thinking about his future.

He knows that he can always back off from the marriage anytime he wishes, but Hoseok is not a person like that. He would always think about other's feelings. Why didn't he think about his feelings?

Because he didn't have any.

But I have already told her that we can get divorced after a year or so, if she wants to.

Well if she does want that; good for her.

But what she doesn't?

What if I don't?

He was afraid that he would be binded by her feelings and do everything she wanted. He was afraid that he'd become her puppet, and she'd control her just like his mother did.

What if she actually wants to get married?

What if she is not against it?

What if she expects affection from me as her husband?

It is totally common for a girl to expect affection from her husband. But how would Hoseok show her affection when he didn't have any? And Hoseok could tell that that little nod she gave when he asked her if she was against the marriage was not sincere.

He let out a sigh.

He needs to talk to Yoongi and Namjoon.

"We're here, sir." Minhyuk spoke.
"Oh." Hoseok snapped out of his thoughts. "Park the car and get home safely." He said while getting out.

"Yes sir." Minhyuk said. "Sir, I think she is going to be perfect for you." Minhyuk suddenly spoke. Hoseok snapped his head towards him. "You do need a life partner after all." Hoseok nodded at him and gave him a tired smile.

Hoseok walked inside his penthouse and tiredly kicked his shoes off. He looked around at his warm house.

Will this warm house be filled with another her warmth?
