The last moving van had driven off to our new destination.  Yoonoh and I had decided to stay a while at our old house. To say goodbye and shit like that.

Yes, it was emotional as in the movies, and more than anything I wanted to stay. I thought moving was a bit extra for some small virus but I soon proved myself wrong. We were no longer warned to be in quarantine because taking one look outside would tell us enough.

I unstrapped my bag from my chest and took out my doll. It was clean and plastic, but it was pretty. The lips were glazed with shiny gloss and she wore a furry purple coat. I admired the doll a lot because Yoonoh gave it to me on valentines day, which was just yesterday. I used to keep a set of them back when I was 11 and thats what gave him the idea.

My mind focused as he came down from the stairs. "It feels like I forgot something." He mumbles.

I take a lap around the house to circulate the air that I had breathed for two years. It makes me think of when him and I had just met. I didn't really like him at first, but he was nice and persistent. Even though hes not that way now, I couldn't see myself without him.

"Alright, lets go." He gathers up a stack of papers from the table. I look outside at the new car he bought 2 weeks ago.

The moment I would step into that car, id be leaving this house. This house full dry memories. It was my first place I bought..We bought. now my fantasy as a child of living in a space with my boyfriend for 10 years is fading away because the world is ending.

He opens the front door and waves his hand toward the car, signaling me walk out first. I sigh a heavy breath and drag my heavy feet out the room.

Yoonoh's head turns slightly as he hears a loud noise coming from the kitchen. I flinch. "Who the hell is in here?" His face is seemingly relaxed. The noise become more clear and I soon recognize it as an object crashing into the bottom cabinets. I listen closely and hear a few grunts.

I look at my boyfriend and he quickly snatches the bat that was leaning on the door and dashes towards the noises. I stay right behind him like a shadow.

He stops in the doorway. Im behind his back as he stands there frozen. I peek under his arm and notice what he is gaping down at.

A clearly limp child is squirming at his feet, trying to grab hold of it. I look around and see that he had crashed down the counter after successfully breaking in the window.

"Its infected." He says emotionless, nudging me back. "W-what are you gonna do?" My breath hitches. He watches the child make choking like noises.

"What the hell do you think? Im not gonna let it chill on the floor!" He shouts while still pushing me back.

"Look at it! Its fucking 6 years old!"

"And its infected! Do you think infected have feelings when they get the virus? Were lucky this one hurt himself already. If it didn't he would be charging at us aiming to bite!"

I stay silent.

please dont do this yoonoh. It would break my heart to see see you bash a child's head in.

his hand pushes me more aggressively this time, and Im almost out the door.

"C'mon Yoonoh we can just leave it here!" I cry, begging for him to just leave it.

His right arm raises too fast for me to stop it and and it swings down, landing on the child's now-open skull. Its arms twitched its last movement and after he layed still.

"Lets go!" He holds a tight grip onto his bat but grabs my arm even tighter. he leads me to his car.

I tried my best to choke out a word but I failed unsuccessfully.
