It was about 11:15pm Olivia-Mae was in the shower the piping  water pelting over her shoulder blades. The world becomes an ocean. The ocean over me. The sound of water is deafening, the water drowns my heart, my panic becomes as large as planets.
She wrapped herself in pj bottoms and a hoodie and looked out her window at the ebony black sky mixed with the stars, they reminded me of my 8th birthday when her and her brother had a starlit pick-nick. I remember the stars that night, they were like salt against the sky. Like someone spilled a shaker against very dark cloth. That mattered to me their accidental beauty.
My dad has broken me, I was heart broken without my brother. Jac came in "are you still heartbroken kid?" Olivia's tear stained face looked at her. " I think you are having a different sort of heartbreak. Maybe a kind of heartbreak of being in a world, where you don't know how to be. If that makes any sense? Everyone has that moment , I think, the moment something so....momentous happens that it rips your very being into small pieces. And then you have to stop. For a long time you gather your pieces. And it takes such a very long time, not to fit them back together, but to assemble them in the new way, not necessarily a better way. more way that you can live with until you know for certain that this piece should go there, and that one there."
Olivia-mae just looked at Jac as she knew what Jac was saying was true she was a girl in pieces, "I'm nothing special." Olivia began "you can spot the girls who have it easy, I don't even know how to describe it for you. You can Spot the girls it will get by on smarts. You can spot the girls who will get by because they are tough or athletic. And there's me." She finished Jac just held her tight "is Will out of Police custody?" Olivia-mae asked Jac nodded "why?" She asked "because then we can go to court and then I can go home, to my proper, my real home back with Will."
"Liv your dads sorry" Olivia cut her off
"No he isn't or he'd let me see my brother, I'm safer with Will anyway!"
