Author's POV
Y/N was walking home from school, slowly.
she knew when she came back her mother would either be doing one of the two things.
she was most likely drinking, or out at a bar.
she would find out soon anyway.Y/N liked walking slower. it meant she had less time to spend with her irritating mother at home.
"home" a word she hated. the mention of it at times would make her scrunch her nose at annoyance or make her look off to the side, trying to distract herself from the bad thoughts.
she had a weird feeling as usual, whenever she walked home from school she always had a feeling as if someone was staring at her. she would normally shrug off the feeling and carry on walking with her own thoughts. her heavy school bag bobbing up and down her back as she walked and her long dark hair flowing gracefully in the cold breeze.
it was winter and she didn't even have a warm jacket to wear.
whenever she was younger, winter was her favorite season. she got to go out ice skating and build snowmen with her father. sometimes her mother would tag along and it would be like one big happy family. if only she could go back to the happier days. at least back then her mother wasn't an alcoholic and her life was relatively normal.
she did a sigh at the thought of her dad, becoming more silent. she wasn't making much noise in the first place. just her shoes making contact with the hard path as she walked to her house.
throughout all of this, she continued to look around her, occasionally glancing over her shoulder to check that no one was behind her.
she furrowed her eyebrows, the feeling really getting to her. she would normally not give two damns but it was even more unsettling than it was before. maybe it was because of her becoming more paranoid about the situation, but she wasn't taking any chances.
a group of girls from her school were coming up behind her, casually talking and laughing at each other. though to Y/N, it felt like they were talking about her and it started to scare her. she didn't know why she was thinking this way but it was getting to her head.
she slowed her footsteps, letting the group of girls pass her.
she stared them down, her shoulder brushing against one of the girl's sides.
the girl jerked her head towards Y/N, giving her a quick glare, doing a scoff and carrying on with her day.
Y/N felt a wave of relief rush over her, ignoring the girl's actions.
she about to start walking whenever she noticed they had passed around the corner.
the streets were 'empty' and she didn't think much of it. that was until strong arms suddenly wrapped around her waist.
many mixed emotions were raging through her body in a matter of seconds. mainly fear.
"H-Hey! what are yo-"
"hush~ daddy's got you" an unfamiliar man cut her off by whispering in her ear.
a soft, white cloth was now being placed around her mouth and nose.
"daddy?" she thought, trying to not get distracted by his calming words.
"n-no! please just.. let me go!" she whimpered, tears forming in her eyes.
her already weak body wasn't helping her escape his embrace, so instead, she just tried to kick and move her body as much as she could.
a relaxing scent washed over her from the cotton cloth and she slowly stopped squirming about, her body falling limp.
"hush~" kept being repeated in her ear.
"it's okay." was the last words she heard before her eyes fluttered closed.
