Chapter 1
I walk onto the stage and tremble all over. I take a deep breath as I look out at the audience.
I read the signs in the crowd, and take my place at the front of the stage. A light shines down on me and the fans scream and cheer.
The band starts playing, signalling for me to start singing. This is it.
I slowly lift the microphone to my face and open my mouth to sing, and I am shocked when nothing comes out, not a word.
The audience quietens down and I can feel all eyes on me.
I feel a tear running down my cheek as I try again, but still nothing.
Liam glances over at me and, without hesitating, starts to sing my solo.
“I’ll be here, by your side
No more fears, no more crying
But if you walk away
I know I’ll fade
Cause there is nobody else”
I look over at him and smile. How lucky I am to have him.
He smiles back. Oh how adorable he looks when he smiles.
I struggle to concentrate, but I realise that everone else was singing the chorus.
“It’s gotta be you
Only you
It’s got to be you
Only you”
I look around, only to notice that the world seemed to be spinning right before me.
I feel my body collapse and slowly fall to the ground.
The last thing I saw were Liam’s concerned brown eyes looking down at me.
For the last few seconds before everything went black, it seemed like we were the only ones in that room, and I think to myself, it’s got to be you.
