Were Bite

Chapter 1: October fright

October 29th, 1988, 8:30pm. I was sitting at home, on my couch reading my Re-Animator comic book. My mom walked into the living room and asked me 

"Kye make sure tomorrow you take out the trash and clean your room before any of your friends come over this weekend." "alright mom." I said with a bit of an attitude.

 As I was reading my Re-Animator comic my dog started to bark at are window, he usually does that when he sees someone he doesn't know or when he senses danger. I got up and looked out the window and I saw nothing but the few houses on my street and the pure white moon. I told my mom I was gonna go outside to see if we had skunks again. I got my flash light and I walked outside to see what my dog was barking at, as I was walking I heard a bit of ruffling behind my bushes, I picked up a long stick and held it close to me. Then growling came from the bush, it started to shake drastically, then I swung the stick as hard as I could at the bush, then I heard an "OW DUDE WHAT THE HELL!" I was confused at first, then I saw my friend West come up from the bush with a beat up werewolf mask rubbing his head.

 "What the hell Kye you didn't have to hit me like that, it was just a joke!" "well dont scare me like that again dude, ill run and get the ice from the shed." 

As I was running to go get the ice from the shed in my backyard, my friend Jenny looked over the fence and said "Hey Kye, is everything alright?" 

"Yea West just scared me so I accidently hit him with a sick" 

"I swear he will never learn" Jenny said laughing.

"yeah well Ill see you and the rest of the gang tomorrow night"

"hell yeah tomorrows gonna be fun"

As I waved goodbye to Jenny I ran back to the front of my house to give West some ice. We sat outside for about an hour and just watched the howls of the wolves. West asked me "Hey Kye, what are we gonna be doing tomorrow, I mean no parents will be home and its gonna be Friday"

"I have know idea dude, but I did get a really good tape of the thing!"

"Awesome! Well I should be getting home my mom is makin beef stew and I dont wanna be late, see you tomorrow Kye"

As West and I did are handshake he started to run back home. I got my flash light and went back inside. When I entered inside my house my mom was out of the kitchen and in her room sleeping. I grabbed my comic book and ran upstairs to my room. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and went to bed, as I went in my room my mom called me into her room, as I walked in I said "Yes mom?"

"You crazy teenagers better not be doing something crazy in my house tomorrow Kye, just because your 16 doesn't mean you can throw big parties"

"Yes mom I understand"

"Ok, goodnight sweet heart, now get some rest"

As I kissed my mom on the cheek I walked back into my room and jumped on my bed. When I turned my lamp off I closed my eyes and tried to rest, I sat up as soon as I heard a howl from my window, I laid back down in my bed and covered my ears with my pillow. As I was trying to block out the sound I couldn't sleep, I sat back up and looked for one of my werewolf comic books, When I found one I laid back down and turned my lamp on to read it, I felt my eyes start to get heavy as I was read more and more of it, then I feel asleep.

As my little radio blasted Michael Jackson's Thriller I shot up and hit my head on the shelf above me, When I got up I looked outside of my window and saw that it was a nice and sunny day outside, when I got up I quickly grabbed my clothes and jumped in the shower, When I got out of the bathroom I ran downstairs to the kitchen to grab an apple. I look at the counter and saw a note, the note said

"Hey Kye, I went to your aunt jessie's house, I'm sorry I had to leave earlier than I did but I will be back this Monday early in the morning, I left some money on the table for you and your friends this weekend, I love you sweetie, love mom"

As I read the note I saw the money on the counter and I put it into he drawer and ran outside, when I came outside I saw West and Wayne waiting for me on there bikes, when i grabbed my bike Wayne said

"So are you sure your mom wont be here tonight?"

"No Wayne, why do you ask?"

"Cause I was thinking of bringing one of my little friends over, if you catch my drift?"

"Oh god he's gonna bring one of his sluty girlfriends" said West

"Shut up West you haven't had a girlfriend since 5th grade"

"Fine she can come but my mom said no parties, so she better not bring anyone else with her" I said.

As we were riding are bikes in town we saw people putting up Halloween decorations and blasting Halloween music on there radio, as Wayne, West and I were riding are bikes to school we saw some girls outside setting up Halloween decorations in there front lawn. One of them waved at us and called for Wayne, Wayne was one of the popular kids at are school, to this day I still dont know why he choose to hangout with us. As Wayne road his bike over to the girls, West yelled out

"Come on Wayne we got to get to school!"

Wayne flipped off West behind his shoulder while he was talking to the girls. After Wayne was done talking to the girls he ran over to us and told us that there would be a Halloween block party tomorrow night,

"seems like a pretty bad idea for me and Kye considering that we've never gotten invited to a party ever" said West.

"Dont sweet the small things West, tomorrow night is gonna be fun since the rest of the gang I gonna be with us" said Wayne

"I mean I guess but I swear if any of those fucking jocks from are school bother me or the rest of the us were gonna go back inside!"

As we carried on to ride are bikes to school, we rode past the woods near my house we noticed a man in a stripped shirt, blue jeans with long black hair and a scruffy beard. He looked at us as we were riding next to the woods, When we got a closer look we saw a abandon looking house behind him, the house looked run down and moldy, We all continued to ride are bikes down the steep hill road. When we arrived to school we saw Jenny outside talking to a kid biracial teenager with black hair, a leather jacket and ripped jeans. When they were talking he looked at all three of us and introduced himself

"hey guys, my name is Mike, I'm new around here but your friend Jenny told me a lot about you guys"

"Nice to me you, I'm Kye, to my right is West and to my left is Wayne"

"Nice to meet you guys, well I got to get to class, see you in the halls".
