This story has an alternate ending to the Lord of the RIngs. While I love the books, for my story it was necessary to change the ending. Basically, Boromir doesn't die. Gollum lives, and Smeagol wins out. He helps Frodo throw the ring into the fire, and returns with Frodo to the Shire, where Frodo attempts to help Smeagol fully recover from his need for the Ring. (There's still a bit of Gollum left in him, but the Ring now holds no power over him). I did this in an attempt to make the story more entertaining. Also, there is a surprise guest. I hope you enjoy this bit of holiday fun, I know I enjoyed writing it!
