Opposites Attract

Sunflowers

It was 10:30 am in Arizona, a very nice day outside. Lissa decided she would go out and see the sunflowers bloom, she would bring her sketch pad to draw them and her friends, the bees. After a few 30 mins or looking at the blooming flowers and sketching them, there was trouble coming.

"Hey look guys it's Loony Lissa, sketching bees aren't we Lissa?" Matthew asked

She thought to herself.

' I see him at school, I have to do a project with him! Why in the name of god can't I have a normal weekend without him bugging me all the time?!' She felt frustrated at the boy

"Leave me alone Matt" She said

"Oh but why would I do that?" He said sliding up into the seat next to her.

"Fine but if you want to be here we have to work on our project!" She said, the boy sighed and agreed.

*20 minutes later*

"Lissa, why do you like bees so much?" Matt asked in curiosity

"Why would you care anyways?" She asked

"I'm trying to make conversation work with me here!" He said

"Fine, my parents used to live in a bee farm, well close to it. One day when I was a baby I walked along the path to the farm, I could hear little whispers as I got closer, the woman that lived on the farm let me help her with the bees and as I grew older I would help her out more, but when I turned 6 my parents decided to move to the city that's where I met Daisy, and you, we would go and visit the farm but it wasn't the same until the lady that lived there passed away when I was 14 I would call her nana, since I didn't have one and she would take care of me when my parents couldn't, ever since the day that she passed I've had a stronger connection to bees and well they just remind me of her" she said with tears now in her eyes.

Matthew did the unexpected, he kissed her. He has been wanting to do that ever since she moved to the city, has he been rude to her just because he doesn't want to admit his feelings? Yes he has. With even more surprises Lissa kissed back.

'She tastes like honey' he thought

"Wow, what was that?" She asks after she brakes away.

"I've been wanting to do that for a while" he said.

"I never new that's what you thought of me, honestly Matt I've always thought that you were different than the others and why you would do all those things to me, the names, the bullying it was all just to hide your feelings for me" She said

"And you have cracked my code Lissa Jones, I've liked you ever since you stepped foot in Mrs. J's class" he said

"Matt would you like to come to my sweet 16?" She asked

"Yes!" He said

Lissa gave him a peck before leaving, 'what a magical day' she thought and then a bee landed on her shoulder knowing that it was her nana.
