"Amazing. Hardworking. Driven. Bad ass. This is everything we use to describe this person. Today, we would like to honor this person who helped bring this law firm to where it is now." Adrien extended to his hand to his honorary employee."Today, we are giving this year's A&F law firm award of recognition and appreciation to Tamera Washington."
Tamera felt a wave of excitement wash over her brown skin. An explosion of thunder clouded the conference room as her colleagues clapped for her.
She stood from her chair and took to the front where everyone could see her.
She was excited and she knew she deserved it, however she was still nervous.
"Thank you."
Tamera grinned when she was handed the plaque, which her name was scribbled on.
Not only did she know how important this recognition was, she also knew this recognition came with something much more interesting.
As everyone clapped and cheered her on, Tamera leaned in to whisper.
"And the raise?" She kept her smile vibrant.
"We will discuss it later." Her boss mumbled as his employees cheered for this year's honorary.

Tamera rushed into her office with a smile stretched across her face. Recieving the news about her new bonus, and pay raise, was enough to leave her feeling cheerful when she answered the phone.
"You have reached Tamera Washington's office." She said.
"Ms. Washington. This is Audrey Middleton again-"
"Don't worry Mrs. Middleton. I know exactly why you are calling." Tamera flipped through her files before she retrieved the Middleton folder. "After looking over your information, I believe we can get you everything you need and more."
Audrey exhaled a sigh of relief.
She was told about Tamera's work and her ability to go above and beyond. Even though she was going through a tough time and a messy divorce, she was happy to have Ms. Washington on her side.
"Thank you." She smiled.
"Don't worry Mrs. Middleton. I have your back."
Tamera ended the call before she returned to her file. She had some more work to do if she was going to get top dollar for her client.
