Egg

The idea came out of nowhere. Hyejoo was in her living room eating her chips, when she suddenly shot up from the couch like she had the most brilliant idea ever when in reality her idea revolved around throwing eggs at people without actually hitting them as a prank.

So here she was now, standing outside her apartment balcony with a carton of eggs and her friend Yeojin holding a camcorder. She had asked Yeojin to come over and help her record this to have something to laugh at in the future. Yeojin, being as dumb as Hyejoo, agreed with no hesitation since she thought it would be fun.

"Are you recording?"

"Yep!" Yeojin gave her a thumbs up behind the camera.

Hyejoo then looked into the camera and spoke. "Okay, so I'm gonna be throwing eggs in people's direction without actually hitting them and see they're reactions. This'll be fun", she said smirking. Hyejoo then proceeded to look ahead for any targets to throw at.

Half an hour had passed with cracked eggs along the sidewalk, people getting either confused or scared and Hyejoo and Yeojin laughing their asses of while still recording.

At one point, Hyejoo saw someone approaching and wasn't quite paying attention to who it was nor the direction she wanted to throw at from how much she was laughing, so when she threw the egg and it landed on that person's head earning a scream from them she completely froze mouth gaping and eyes wide.

Hyejoo recognized that voice and was terrified to even look down fearing that she might actually see her, but it could just be someone with a similar voice, right?

"Yo, is that Yerim? Holy shit it is! Don't you like have a crush on her or something?"

Hyejoo knew she fucked up real bad when Yeojin spoke. She actually hit her crush since middle school in the head with an egg. A fucking egg. She didn't want to look, but did anyway, slowly lowering her head down at the same time Yerim looked up and they made eye contact. Yerim was angry and Hyejoo was embarrassed. Yeojin continued laughing as Hyejoo dashed out the door to catch up with Yerim before she stormed off. Surprisingly she was still standing in the same spot, arms crossed and glaring at Hyejoo as she arrived and stood infront of her panting.

"Care to explain why the fuck you threw an egg on me Son Hyejoo?" she said calmly still glaring at Hyejoo.

"I'm so sorry! It was an accident I swear! I didn't mean to throw an egg at you, I wasn't looking and if I had recognized you I wouldn't have even thrown it!"

"Why were you even throwing eggs in the first place you idiot?!"

That was a good question. Why was she even throwing eggs in the first place? Oh right! To prank people, and what did she end up with? This situation.

"To...prank people?" she said looking anywhere but Yerim since she was so sure she had gotten so red from all the embarrassment and the fact that Yerim was there staring at her.

Yerim raised an eyebrow at her and Hyejoo expected her to shout at her or tell her that she never wanted to talk to her again after this or never wanted to see her again, but was caught of guard when Yerim started laughing lightly. Hyejoo looked at her surprised, but smiled a little and then giggled with her for a few seconds, and when they stopped they stared at each other. Before she could say anything, Yerim spoke.

"Ah~ I can't believe I like an idiot".

Yeah...

Wait, what? Yerim liked her? Yerim liked Hyejoo back?

"W-what?"

"Didn't you here me? I. Like. You" she said it so casually like she was greeting her.

Hyejoo took a moment to process this. She liked her back which meant that she could confess now too. It shouldn't be so hard. She opened her mouth to speak only to close it back again, she just couldn't bring herself to say it. Why was it so hard to say those three words? She knew their feelings were mutual, so why couldn't she say it out loud to her?

Yerim just giggled again before leaning in and pecking the younger girl's cheek. Hyejoo just stopped breathing at this point. "You look cute when you're flustered, anyway I have to go wash this out before the smell sticks. See you around" and with that said, Yerim left. Hyejoo was still frozen in the same spot feeling like she might burst from all the happiness any second.

Meanwhile, Yeojin was still recording the interaction between those two from the balcony, laughing so hard she almost cried.
