Mia woke up, petrified by what she had seen even now, at 15 she was still effected by that sight. She got out of bed and staggered over to her makeup table and looked in the mirror, still the fat, ugly face that looked so familiar looked back at her. She grabbed her foundation, she was going to need a lot of it for all this acne. Ugh, Mia hated life. you got up, did the same thing everyday, and then went to sleep and you do this every single day for the rest of her life.
After she had got ready, Mia went down for breakfast. She liked to get up early and eat before the rest of the family but today she had no choice. "Are you seriously gonna go to school looking like that?" Her mother asked. "In my day we used to try and look good when we went to school." She chose to ignore these comments like she did everyday. it was painful, especially when you had so many things you wanted to say but Mia was sure it was the right choice. "oi, something wrong with your mouth, speak girl!" Was her fathers input, it seemed he only spoke to insult her."hello, I see you must both be wide awake to have noticed a couple of my flaws already,"
"Damn right we are." There was a knock on the door. Mia, hoping it was Zac ran to get it, glad for an excuse to leave. Sure enough standing outside the door was zac he looked amazing! He, unlike Mia, didn't have any time to worry about his appearance but today he looked as if something was troubling him. Mia couldn't help herself but threw her arms around him. "happening again?" Zac asked. "Yea" she whispered back in his ear. Zac was so good at knowing if you were upset, He was the one other person that knew about all her troubles, every day he would try and help in someway and she loved him for that, but he could never help. Not really. As they walked it became more and more apparent that he was upset, "what's wrong?" "I..I.. I'll tell you later." he stumbled over the words like he was ashamed to say them. They walked almost the rest of the way in silence.
