Obsession

Prologue

"Why are you doing this?" I asked, my voice cracking.

"I'm only looking out for you, Jay," His voice was sweet, as he softly strocked my cheek, continuing, "I love you....and im not going to let him get in the way of us." I looked at him, whispering, "Please don't hurt him....I'll do anything. Please just....please don't hurt him."

"Why?! He tore us apart. He didn't believe in us. Elijah thinks he can take you away from me! He better not come near us...or I'll make him regret the day he met you!" He said angrily, his voice grew louder as he said each word. His voice made me flinch. I saw the feirce look in his eyes and I wanted to turn away, but my body said 'no'.

"Kellan..." I spoke, "You love me, right?"

He scoffed, "Of course I do! I love you, so much, that my heart aches."

"Than promise me something."

"I'll do anything." His voice was gentle, but his eyes held insanity.

"Promise me that, if you don't hurt Elijah....I-I'll run away with you."

Kellan grinned widely, "Really?" He asked, almost shaking with excitement, "You would do that for me?"

"Of course I would..I-I love you." I lied. My voice stayed level and calm. It suprised me. On the inside I was quivering and my hands became a bit shakey. But, Kellan didn't seem to notice. He smiled.

"Let's do it then! We'll leave first thing in the morning." He kissed my forehead and I tried not to coil away from his touch, "No more Elijah , he won't get to us anymore."

He whispered the last part and walked out of the room. I layed down on the bed, silent sobs began to leave my lips. I closed my eyes as everything began to fade into black.
