Harry
Baseball. Baseball. Baseball.
My whole life has been a phenomenon of sports since as long as I can remember.
I have a reputation to keep and I intend to keep it.
I drag my fork along the side of plate, picking around the nicely made spaghetti.
"Harry, do you like it?"
My mother has always loved to be the center of attention.
She likes it so much that she just so happens to be the mayor of the town we live in; Arthur.
"It's fine." I wouldn't know, I haven't touched it.
I hate spaghetti. And maybe she'd know that if she raised me.
My nanny, Kim raised me.
My dad is around, but he sleeps downstairs while my mum sleeps upstairs. They're divorced but didn't want to "traumatize" me so they both just stayed here.
"I hear you have a game today."
Why is she still talking to me?
I just nod.
Kim walks in. Her long black hair lays against her shoulder as she sits down across from me.
"Harry, your game starts in an hour. You better go get ready." Kim says. She must've noticed how uncomfortable I am.
As I start to head upstairs, mum clears her throat. "Love you!"
Sure.
I just nod.
____
I sit in my car in front of the baseball field, just staring at it.
Sometimes I like to just sit here and visualize all the possible wins I can make on the field.
"Yo! Harry!" Noah.
Noah's been my best friend since we were twelve. He used to be my neighbor before his dad passed.
Then he moved to a new neighborhood. One that his mum could afford without his dads income coming in and all.
I open the car door, grabbing my duffle bag and slinging it over my shoulder.
"You ready for the game today? I heard coach was not in a good mood today."
"Ready as I'll ever be."
He slaps me across the back, laughing loudly in my ear. "Dude, I got this hot chick coming to watch me tonight."
He always does.
Every game Noah has a new girl. And every time he always thinks they're going to last.
But girls just want Noah for two things.
Sex and his athletic skills.
Me, I just don't have time for girls. They throw themselves at me.
It's nice to get laid every once in a while, but girls are just a distraction.
"What's her name?" I ask, beginning to tie my cleats.
"Camiren. She's so hot dude."
Tuning out everything else he says, I begin to practice my swing.
"Oh shit dude there she is!"
She's tall, blonde, and has light blue eyes. Like every other girl he brings to games.
I give her a wave.
"We were just wondering where do we buy the tickets?" She flashes a smile, twirling her hair at Noah.
Yup she's just like the rest of them.
"Cami I'm tired can we please just go." A girl with brown long hair, and brown eyes walks up next to Camiren.
She's very pretty...beautiful even.
"Just go sit on the bleachers you'll be fine." Camiren groans, before turning back to Noah and flirting some more.
The girl rolls her eyes and storms off.
She looks so familiar but I just can't lay a finger on it.
"Excuse me can you tell me where the bleachers are?" I turn around and there she stands.
Wow.
She's beautiful. I scan her slowly, studying every detail.
She has tan lines on her shoulders, freckles along her cheeks.
Her lips are heart shaped, the bottom one slightly more pink.
Her-
"Hello?? Ugh never mind I'll just find them myself." As she walks off, I notice her ass is just so full and they fit so good in her light ripped jeans.
God she's hot.
"Woah I see you staring." Noah grabs my shoulders and shakes them, making me realize what just went through my head.
I don't like anyone. Girls are distractions.
