She leaped silently from roof to roof, her golden blond hair blowing fiercely in the wind. Her tight purple and black long-sleeved suit felt natural on her body, as did her belt, which was equipped with a variety of gadgets to help her on her missions. Tonight, she didn't have a definite mission, but was refining her parkour. She flipped into a dark alley, adrenaline rushing through her body.

She swiftly put on her night vision mask on, and turned invisible, one of her few capabilities without any devices. The mask had heat sensors built into the threads, and it allowed her to track movement of even the smallest things that radiated heat. She pulled out her new grappling hook gun, jumped, and pulled the trigger.

It attached to the top of the building and she climbed up the side of the maroon bricks, gaining speed as she went. When she got to the top, she pressed the black 'RELEASE' button on the device. The rope reeled back into the gun, and when it was entirely inside, she hooked the gadget onto her belt.

She turned visible again and descended down three fire escapes to the Henderson's apartment. She opened the window and climbed through it to the living room floor. She quietly closed the window and crept back to her room. She sat down on her bed and changed into sweatpants and a baggy tee and hopped into bed.

"Wake up, honey." a voice called gently from above her. The masked man, he finally caught up to me! I can't fight him anymore! I don't have enough power left. "Harper, time to wake up," the voice called again, "You need to get ready for your date, Victoria will be here in half an hour!" Harper sat up groggily. "Mom, is that you?" she asked.

Her mom's face changed from calmness to worriedness in less then a second. "You're having one of those terrible dreams again, aren't you?" she questioned.

"Yes, but I'm fine," Harper insisted, trying to convince her mother

Her mother sighed and replied "I'll call your therapist and ask her for another session. I thought that you were fine, you didn't have nightmares for a week."

"Mom, I'm fine!" she said persistently.

"No excuses, we will see Joanne this afternoon. Now get ready; Victoria is going to be here in 30 minutes."

Harper groaned loudly and then hopped out of bed. She then stomped over to her dresser and threw a blue and white romper on.

"Honey, wear something nicer. Today is your date with Jake, remember?"

"Ugh!" Harper replied "Why do you encourage Lauren to set up dates for me? It's not like anybody will ever want to go out with me. I'm only 17!"

"Oh, honey. I just think that you need someone other than Victoria and Lauren to hang out with, and don't say that nobody will ever go out with you. That's not true at all. I had my first date when I was 16 and it was absolutely tremendous."

"Okay, mom," She replied, fighting an urge to roll her eyes, "But I am not going to change my clothes for him, he should like me the way I am."

Her mom sighed and shook her head slowly, knowing that she had lost the battle. She stood up and walked out of the door, closing it behind her, "Have fun!" She yelled up the stairs.

Harper turned around and grabbed her phone from her nightstand table before flopping on the bed. She looked at it, admiring it for a minute; she had just gotten the newest iPhone last week and was still super amazed that she could afford it. She flipped it over and was suppressed by all the notifications she had gotten. There were 7 texts from Victoria and Lauren they went all the way from, 'Hey Harper! Check the news and then call us. C U later' to 'HARPER JANE HENDERSON! Check the news now! We are in the middle of a crisis, don't you understand!!'
