Chapter 3: Interaction Between Mother and Son

I started to sit down at the kitchen table and began scrolling through my phone my mom looked at me and said, "Matty, you look like you've seen a ghost." I mean I did just go to bed with my dad and my step-mom being together the night before but it all was just I guess a dream. I went to go back upstairs and called my friends. I began to tell them about everything and they all were assuming I was going insane. Why did it feel like it was all real but was not real at the same time? 

A Few hours went by and I was just staying upstairs in my room texting everyone till I realized I need to make sure what happened in the past is really true. I went to go to talk to my mom about the cancer cure. As I walked downstairs I heard my dad saying, "Is Matthew alright? He seemed a little off when he woke up?"

" He did seem a little shook do you think it was because of the storm?" She added.

Now, that made sense to me because of the storm it was still all grey and gloomy. I continued to walk through around the dry bar and into the kitchen again. I looked at my mom and all I could do was smile at the time because I could not figure out the right words to say.

"Mom. There is something I should say, I know it is going to sound really weird at first but please listen to what I have to say."

"Okay, I'm listening." 

"Alright so 5 years ago you have breast cancer and you could not beat it and you passed away. We were shaken and dad and all of us changed I went to LCMA and everything changed two years later Dad remarried to someone from New Mexico that the lady at tech knew and was married for two years until last night I was going to bed and it was during a storm I turned out the light and lightning struck me and I woke up with you here now and I have no clue what is going on and how should this even happen what is really going on?" I said with very little breath left in me.

My mom looked at me completely understanding and everything. She smiled then politely said. "Matthew, you must have had quite the dream, everything is okay I beat cancer remember? You're going to Valley Verde High School, same as your brother and sister everything is going to be okay. We are all here happy and healthy." 

As soon as she finished I was so overwhelmed I passed out...
