“You slept next to Brody? All night? What the hell, Blair, how are you not freaking out?” Bex exclaimed, speaking with a speed only she could manage.
The four of us; Rae, Bex, Josie and I; were all in my room getting ready for the party. After I had explained everything that had occurred last night, as well as this morning, my friends were looking at me in utter shock.
I rolled my eyes at Bex’s questions and calmly said, “Because it’s not a big deal. So we fell asleep, who cares?” I knew it was a big deal, but I was trying not to think about it too much and make it into something I knew it wasn’t.
Rae, of course, could see right through me. She always could. “Come on, of course she’s freaking out, just look at her. She’s been biting her nails since we got here and keeps twirling her hair,” Rae stated this with absolutely no doubt in her mind, because she knew exactly what those things meant.
I rolled my eyes at her and mumbled, “Whatever, Rae. I’m trying not to buy too much into it. But incase you were wondering, I’m planning on telling Brody how I feel about him. Tonight.”
Josie jumped up off of my bed, pulled me into a hug, and told me how proud of me she was. Rae, on the other hand, was looking at me like I had two heads.
“What?” I said, “I decided you were right, what’s the worst that could happen?”
Her mouth turned up into a smug smile and she walked into my closet and called out, “Well if this is happening tonight, then you need to look absolutely amazing.”

I pulled over to the side of the road to park, just as many others had done. The four of us climbed out of my blue Jeep Wrangler and headed towards the house. People were pouring in and out of the front door, as well as some windows, and I told myself to take a deep breath as we walked up the front steps.
“There’s Zack!” Rae called out as soon as we walked in. I glanced over and saw him standing in the kitchen with a few of his friends that I’d met before.
“Hey, babe!” Zack shouted as he walked around the kitchen island to Rae, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her on the cheek. He looked past her and gave the rest of us a wave.
“Do you guys wanna join our game?” he asked enthusiastically and gestured towards the rest of the people he was hanging out with, all standing around the island.
“What game?” Bex asked curiously, looking around for anything indicating what it may have been.
“Spin the bottle,” a guy across from me answered. He was looking down at his drink, swirling it around in his hand.
"Although, we play a little differnently than your usual game of spin the bottle," Zack said with a smirk as he gave us all a drink.
Before anyone got the chance to explain, I heard a familiar voice behind me shout, “Oh! Are you guys playing spin? We’re totally joining!”
I turned around to see that it was Luke, followed by, who else? Brody. They came over and squeezed into the circle, one on each side of me. Every part of my arm felt like it was on fire, considering it was right up against his. He looked down at me, gave me that flawless smile, and whispered, “Hey, Blairy. I’m glad you came.”
I felt the blush creep across my face but smiled back, trying to play it cool. “Me too, thanks for the invite.”
“No problem, I’ve missed hanging out with you.” He bumped his hip gently against mine, causing me to chuckle and almost spill my drink.
"Okay, so what happens is, you spin the bottle and you have a few options. You can either kiss the person it lands on, or you can pick someone else in the circle for them to kiss, so you don't have to. Got it?" Zack explained this really quickly and we all just nodded and went along with it, but I'm pretty sure we were all a little skeptical.
Taking charge, Luke excitedly grabbed the bottle and went first. It landed on Zack who had a disguted look on his face, while Luke looked disappointed. He rolled his eyes and muttered, "Go ahead and just kiss Rae." They happily obliged and we moved on.
After a few rounds, Brody spun the bottle and my heart stopped as it landed on Josie. He went to walk over to where she was standing on the other side of the island, but her eyes were locked on mine. She was giving me a pained and questioning stare which I returned with a small encouraging smile. Josie took that as a sign that it was okay, but Rae stepped in anyways.
"Are you sure you don't wanna pick someone else for her to kiss instead?" she asked with her teeth clenched.
"Nah, why would I do that?" he answered while giving Rae a confused look. My feet suddenly became the most interesting thing in the room as I avoided what was about to happen. I looked up as soon as they were pulling away, and decided I wasn't in the mood to play anymore.
"Hey guys, I'm gonna go get some air," I turned to leave but Luke grabbed my arm to stop me.
"Wait, it's your turn and you haven't even kissed anyone yet! You have to stay," he looked at me seriously.
"Fine," I angrily grabbed the bottle and spun it hard. It turned and turned and the wait was killing me. Finally, it started to slow and came to a stop on the boy who had been swirling his drink earlier. I didn't really feel like having my first kiss with a stranger, so I turned to Bex and muttered a, "go ahead," and turned to walk out the back door.
