Listen it's 4 am and I haven't touched this fic in like 9 months so I think these are all signals that you shouldn't expect much from this particular update. That being said, my beautiful people of the internet who have been reading this and probably figured its dropped, this fic is now finished, this is the last chapter. I hope it's decent enough and it isn't anticlimatic or anything and that you enjoy it with some luck

Luna wakes up with a heavy head and a heavy heart. The feeling Matteo's little speech from last night hasn't left yet and she can't get the words out of her head, she even dreamed with them and a world where they were true and Matteo stayed with her because of her and because he truly meant all he said and not because some contract forced him to. She sighs heavily and turns around Matteo isn't in bed and she can't hear him around but that doesn't mean he isn't she knows that. She doesn't want to face him, not when she can't deny anymore that she harbors feelings for him that are something beyond horniness.

She sits up very, very slowly and she looks around waiting for her room to come into focus. As it does she can see a glass of water and two ibuprofens on her nightstand and she hurries to down it. She wished he didn't do these things it makes it so easy to believe that he actually cares for her. Or well that he cares in the way that she wants him to care. She thinks he does care about her, in some way, maybe like a friend or a pet but he would never want her the way she does want him. And that's almost worse somehow.

She takes her sweet time to get up and Matteo doesn't come looking for her, she knows he is probably giving her alone time but it stings for some dumb reason. She doesn't go look for Matteo as soon as she can, she showers first and dresses and pretends that the shower washed away all of her silly thoughts.

She can't pretend once she sees him making pancakes on her kitchen, humming to himself and looking like he belongs there. Her heart does a funny thing on her chest and she feels like crying. She takes a deep breath and walks to the kitchen to sit on the table.

"Look who is awake." He says teasing as he puts the plate in front of her, he leans in to kiss her on the lips but she pretends to go pick up her fork at the same time and he ends up kissing her on the cheek. She hurries to eat and he frowns seeming confused, she shakes her head feeling equal parts guilty and uncomfortable.

"This is delicious." She says trying to ease the moment. "I thought I wouldn't be able to eat but I love pancakes."

He smiles at her and the weird look on his eyes eases but it doesn't completely go away. She hates that she is the reason it's there. She is too invested on him, she cares too much about him, but he will leave eventually, that's all he really wants. She can't be this attached. She needs to make sure it won't hurt too much once he is gone. She needs to keep him at arm length from now on, protect herself. But she needs to be subtle about it, so she won't create any drama that might actually show Matteo just how much she feels for him. She frowns to herself she got herself into a big problem she doesn't know how to deal with and she hates herself for that.

"I know." He says softly and amused with her and he tends to be and she forces herself to not look at him and just focus on her food.

"So how are you feeling, little thing?" He asks sitting next to her. "You were pretty drunk last night."

"Ugh!Don't remind me." She mumbles covering her eyes. "Literally whatever I did last night after like my third drink is better if it's lost forever, historically it's probably not a good decision."

"You didn't do anything shameful don't worry."He says with a weird tone. "What's last thing you remember?"

"When Pedro tried to flirt with the blonde girl and she spilled her drink on his shirt." She mumbles frowning trying to make up any memory beyond that.
