This is for Skele-babe and her story, "fear of mantodea"
everything about this story is amazing. I love the premise of mantis-beetle society, along with the reincarnation and religious themes. The two really tie the whole story together, giving the book some meat to the bones :)
Anyways, here's my interpretation of Ranen

I'm not the best at designing clothes, but I'm quite proud of what he's wearing! I recalled his black gloves, long silver hair, and the amulet that glowed ! I couldn't remember what color it specifically glowed (I imagined green) so I'm sorry if it's wrong! For the ears, I imagined them loooong, thin and pointy! Haha

I imagined him with a bit of long hair as well, but tied up. He also got them pointy ears too haha. And for the blue marks under his eyes, a genetic symbol of royalty, which Ik is not canon but oh well haha. I recalled him flush yellow, so I felt the need to incorporate that too!
Even though he appears nude in this photo, I did come up with an outfit for him

She's a bit softer, more rounded and small. I can imagine the insects all tying their hair up so it wouldn't get in the way of their wings, so I imagined her with a low bun-braid thing lol. And I made note of the crippled wing!
I didn't color this sketch because I didn't feel it necessary haha
Since I included a back-side view of the beetle, I felt inclined to sketch a back-side view of the mantis

I imagined them more sharp-looking. Longer and more elongated, also carrying sharp thorn-like features
I have like a bazillion ideas about what these guys look like and stuff,,, but I'll stop for now haha.
