The Story

(Your pov)

I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to see Vincent. I stretch my limbs across the bed before getting out and washing up in the bathroom.

I get dressed in some cuffed black jeans and a lilac sweater before walking out into the hall. I see Bucky walk out of his room, we walk to the kitchen in silence.

"Wow look at you all dressed up" I hear from across the room. I look at Pietro who is sitting on the couch, I roll my eyes as he comes over and wraps an arm around my shoulder. "Who are you all dressed up for" I blush in embarrassment as everyone looks at me. I nudge Pietro in the ribs with my elbow as I walk to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. He fake groans in pain, I giggle at him as he chuckles. "Well who are you dressed up for" Steve says curiously as everyone nods also wondering. "Oh right, I'm just seeing Vincent. If that's alright with you guys" I say finishing off my water and putting the glass in the sink.

Everyone looks to Tony to see his reaction. He only shrugs "she can go, he is a good kid and I trust them together" he says as he sips his coffee. I smile and walk off to my room.

I go walk to my room to grab a few things. As I enter I see Wanda and Natasha sitting on my bed. I tilt my head to the side and give them a confused look. "Hey you guys need anything" I ask as I begin to put my shoes and socks on. "Who is this Vincent guys and why haven't we heard of him" Wanda asks curiously. I look up and shrug "I don't know, I didn't think it was important" I say continuing to tie my shoe laces up. "Well do you like him" Natasha says as I go to grab my back. I sigh and sit on the bed with them "Yeah, I do. I really like him. He's attractive and he makes me feel happy" I say smiling to myself a little. They hug me and tell me to have fun "hey but if he gets to handsy, kick him where the sun don't shine" Natasha says as I leave the room. I chuckle to myself as I enter the kitchen.

I see Bucky and Tony talk as I enter the kitchen. They stop taking upon seeing me. I look at them with confusion "what are you guys talking about?" I ask as I lean against the counter. "Just a mission" Tony says while Bucky nods in agreement. I nod slowly, suspicious of their behavior.

"Well I'm off, I'll see you all later" I yell out as I press the elevator button. " be safe and use protection" I hear Pietro say, I turn around and point the finger at him and he just chuckles.

I enter the elevator and before the doors close Bucky quickly comes into the elevator with me. "Oh come on, already. I thought we would start this whole bodyguard thing next week" I say looking up at him. He has an amused smile "not how it works doll" he says patting my shoulder. I sigh "oh come on it won't be that bad, I swear you won't notice I'm there" He says and I nod as we walk out of the elevator and I instantly see Vincent.

I run up to Vincent and give him a big hug "hi" I say into his chest. "Hey" he replies holding me tighter.

I pull away and turn around seeing Bucky leaning against the wall with an amused look on his face. I roll my eyes and put up five fingers "five minutes head start" I say to him. He nods slowly in agreement before I grab Vincent's hand as we run outside of the tower.

"I see you two are getting along" Vin says as we walk hand in hand down the street towards the mall "Yeah I suppose we are, he's not that bad" I say with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. He smile at me and we continue in silence.

*one hour later*

We sit together at a table eating some food we got. Making small conversation. He grabs my hands and holds them in his, "I really like you y/n" he says. I smile at him "I really like you too"

We go kiss before I get roughly pushed back into my chair. "What the fuck are you two doing"  we look up and see Emily, the girl who keeps being a bitch.

"What do you want Emily?" She ignores me and grabs Vincent's hand. He pulls his hands away and looks at her in disgust "don't touch me he says" "oh come on Vinnie, ditch this loser and come home with me" she's says running her hand up his arm. He moves closer to me and I sink into my seat uncomfortable.

She rolls her eyes and sits down trying to get Vincent's attention but his eyes are on me, focusing on me. 

I start panicking, he's gonna leave me for her. My father was right, I'm disgusting and no one would ever want me. He holds his hands in mind "come on Vinnie I can give you what you want" she continues tears coming to my eyes. He ignored her and gets me to stand up.

We walk outside and sit on a bench, "calm down, it's gonna be okay, I'm not leaving your side" he says rubbing my arms. I nod.

I hear Bucky behind me, in seconds he is in front of me "woah woah y/n calm down, calm down it's okay" he says, grabbing my face in his hands. I make eye contact with him as I try to regulate my breathing. "Slower, breathe in and out slow, following my breathing" I nod aggressively, gripping onto Vincent's hand to know he's there.

My tears are all dried up and my breathing is fine. I feel exhausted as I rest my head on Vincent's shoulder as he rubs my back. "We should get you back to the tower" he whispers in my ear and I nod.

He lifts me up and I tell Bucky we are heading back. "Alright let's go" he says as we make our way to the tower.

He wraps his arm around me and we enter the tower. Bucky and Vincent walk me to my room and I sit on my bed. Bucky leaves going to inform the team of what had happened. Vincent gets up to leave but I pull him back "please stay, please don't leave" he nods laying down nexts to me "are you sure?" I nod and drift of to sleep in his arms.

I wake up and Vincent's gone but Bucky and Tony are in my room talking quietly. "Hello" I say sitting up against my head board. "How are you feeling" Tony asks "fine, where is Vincent?" I ask looking around "I sent him home, call him later" I nod and start tearing up.

They rush over to me as sobs escape my mouth "I'm sorry, I feel like such a burden" Tony gives me a sad look "you aren't a burden love. I'm glad you are here. I want you to be safe" I nod wiping my tears.

I turn to Bucky "thank you for today" he nods and mumbles a small you're welcome before getting up and leaving the room.

Tony stays with me and rubs my back. "I need to ask you a question. How would you feel about me adopting you" I look at him shocked and smile "are you sure?" I ask hope in my eyes " of course, I don't want you to be tied to your father, I don't want you to go back to him" I nod and hug him closely. "I guess I should tell pepper the news" I smile at him.
