CHAPTER SEVEN

I carried on cheering on the team but kept glancing in Jess and Bryce's direction making sure she was ok. I know Bryce would never do anything to her. I was just checking she wasn't too upset about everything.

Zach was on fire tonight, scoring at least five times in a row. I started chanting his name loudly and got everyone involved. He scored again and as he ran down the court celebrating I could have sworn he winked at me.

"Stop the game! Stop playing! Stop it. Stop!" I turned to find Clay running down the bleachers shouting at the players. Everything went quiet as the whole gym stared at the boy. He looked really distressed and quickly ran away. I went to move to go after him but Sherri took my arm and stopped me. Those tapes must really be messing with his head.

The game finally finished and we obviously won. I screamed loudly running onto the pitch and giving all the team hugs. I ran to Zach last and jumped on him latching my legs around his waist. "You were so amazing tonight!" I squealed in his ear.

He laughed loudly dropping me to the floor "Wouldn't have scored any goals without you cheering me on at the sideline"

I rolled my eyes before hitting him lightly on the shoulder. "Right, shall we head off then? You're still ok to take me home right?"

"Yeah, definitly" He replied. We grabbed our bags and walked out of the gym saying bye to people as we went. "This way," He said putting his hand on my lower back and guiding me to the car. I'd be lying if I said my heart didn't skip a beat. "What the fuck!" Zach shouted dropping his bag and running to his car "FUCK!"

I finally got a look at his incredibly expensive car to see 'WHY ME?" scratched into the side of it. "That's fucked up"

"I know exactly who did it," He said opening his car door "Come on, let's get you home"

I smiled slightly making my way into the passenger seat.

...

"So you just let him get away with it?" Justin asked Zach.

"Look, with everything that is going on at the moment my car is the least of my worries. Besides he said he was going to pay for it." Zach replied.

"I think it's nice you didn't make a huge deal about it. I think with the tapes and everything, it's starting to get too much for him." I said leaning up against the lockers.

Clay and Courtney walked in with a group of students behind him, calling out Zach and Justin's names.

"They are the star basketball players here at Liberty high."

We all turned to look at the boy confused about what he was doing.

"Hey, Justin, where's my bike?" Clay asked laughing slightly turning to the other students "Justin stole my bike"

"What the fuck. What are you doing?" Justin asked stepping forward but I grabbed his arm to stop him going any further.

"I'm giving our new foreign exchange students a tour. Figured they should know who owns the school, right?"

"Clay," Zach said sternly obviously wanting the boy to stop talking.

"Right, right," he said turning around "Moving on. Where were we? Oh, right, the auditorium. But before we go, I wanna show you something super cool" He said making his way over to a different set of lockers. "Look at these lockers. They all look alike, right? Not this one. This one is special. This one belonged to a girl who killed herself"

"Clay, come on," Courtney said trying to move the tour along.

"You see these posters everywhere. The "don't kill yourself posters"? They weren't up before. They put them up because she killed herself. And why did she do it? 'Cause the kids here treated her like shit!" Clay raised his voice catching the attention of everyone in the hallway.
