She sits on her bathroom floor with her hands covered in blood. For the first time in her life, it isn't her own. She doesn't cry. She watches as the blood dries onto her hands. The blood that once belonged to the man she loved. The man she still loves. The man who tortured her and broke her heart into a million pieces like a shattered mirror, a mirror she could no longer see herself in.
She stands up, careful not to get blood on her light blue shirt that brings out her still, sad eyes. They no longer shimmer in the sunlight, just in the darkness when she tries her hardest to be strong. Looking in the mirror, she does not see how she has changed over the past few months she has been alone. She still sees herself as a small, worthless little girl.
Nothing could change the way she saw herself, not even when he held her close and told her she was beautiful. It didn't matter anymore because he was gone. He didn't love her and perhaps he never did.
