Marvel Oneshots - Book 2

Loki - Dragon

All you've ever known is running, running from people, running from who you are, running from the world.

"You don't have to anymore." A voice said snapping you out of your trance.

"L-Loki." You muttered as he smiled and sat beside you, you were on the roof of the Avengers tower. You looked out onto the city as Loki looked at you with a small smile.

"You don't have to run anymore Y/N." He whispered as you leant your head on his shoulder.

"I'm scared that when you see who I truly am you'll only see a monster." You mumbled as he gently turned your head to look at him.

"I could never see you as a monster." He whispered as you glanced down to his lips and he began to lean in.

"Team! There's a large attack down town, we need everyone!" You heard Steve's voice over the speakers as Loki quickly helped you up, you summoned your suit and ran out the door with the rest of the team with Loki following closely behind. You went to where the attack was and saw Hydra agents were killing and taking people. Steve and Tony ran in and were instantly knocked out by some sort of invisible barrier around the area. Loki ran in with him magic but they used some sort of weapon and him and he fell to his knees in pain, they picked him up and were about to load him into a van as you acted quickly.

"Stop!" You shouted as you summoned your power and your human body began shifting bigger and scalier as you shifted into your full dragon form. You roared loudly and easily broke through the barrier as everyone went screaming. You got rid of each other agents as all you saw was red, you began destroyed other things until you heard Loki's voice.

"Y/N, it's ok." You heard his voice in your head as you calm down, you put your head on the ground in front of him as he smiled softly. All of a sudden there was a loud bang and immense pain. You cried out as you transformed back into your human form. One of the Hydra agents had used their weapon on you.

"No!" Loki shouted before he held you before your body hit the floor. Your whole left side was burnt, from your face to you waist.

"No Y/N. Please." He whispered as you opened your eyes slightly.

"I-I'm a monster." You whispered before your eyes closed. The team quickly rounded up the last of the agents as Tony grabbed you and flew you back to the tower leaving Loki afraid and alone as he ran back.

"Let me in please!" Loki shouted as he tried to fight against Steve.

"It's ok Steve, he can see her." Bruce muttered as he ran in and saw you hooked up to an IV and bandages over your face and body.

"Will she be ok?" Loki muttered as he gently ran a finger over your right cheek.

"I had to put her into an induced come for a week, but she should be ok." Bruce said as Loki nodded. He sat beside you and gently held your hand as he signed and let one tear go down his face.

"I won't leave you." He whispered as everyone decided it was best to leave you and Loki alone.

"L-Loki?" You whispered as you saw Loki asleep in a chair beside you. He instantly woke up and looked over you and he held onto your hand.

"Y/N! You're ok." He said thankfully as he gently kissed your hand, your face fell as you remembered what happened.

"So now you know the monster I really am." You whispered as he looked into your eyes with shock.

"My darling, you're not a monster. You're beautiful and strong in any form." He said as your eyes widened.

"You really don't hate me now?" You questioned as he chuckled.

"I could never hate you." He whispered as you smiled. He helped you sit up in the bed as you watched him pour a glass of water for you and gently lift it to your mouth.

"I thought dragons were wiped out eons ago." He said as you smiled sadly.

"They were. I'm the only one left." You muttered as he gently caressed the side of your face.

"I'm sorry love." He whispered as you gently placed your hand over his.

"I want to truly show you who I am. Can you open a portal to somewhere I can show you?" You asked quietly as he smiled and nodded. He gently picked you up and opened a portal to a grassy field where no one would see you.

"Once I transform my human body will heal itself." You said as he nodded and gently placed you on the grass as he stepped back giving you space. You let yourself let go as your true form took over soon towering over Loki who was now tiny compared to you.

"Beautiful." Loki muttered as he watched you stretch your wings out. You ran around and fly around him as finally felt content and not afraid of who you truly are. You flew back to Loki and laid your head in front of him as he gently placed his hand onto you. You transformed back into your human form into Loki's arms as he gladly held you.

"I love you. In any form."
