-A boy called James Harlan was born without a heart and is in turn a "heartless", someone devoid of emotions and is destined to fight "heart breakers" or "breakers" for short. Breakers are grotesque creatures who eat other peoples hearts and create more breakers or are created through great heartbreak. He must fight breakers until he finds his "heartfelt". A person that was born with an extra heart (figuratively or literally it could go either way. heartfelts are basically soul mates) , one of them being his own.
