Ohm was out celebrating the end of semester exams at a bar with his friends. Well, it started that way, until most of his friends ditched him and Bosston, who was currently a mess. He'd just been dumped by his girlfriend of 2 years right after his last exam - and he was an emotional drunk. Ohm had been trying to console him and convince him that they should call it a night, but the man kept pouting and moaning and generally being unmanageable.
He had just ushered him off to the bathroom when someone tapped him on the shoulder. Turning, he saw a stern looking man. Although Ohm was just a bit taller, the guy gave off an air to suggest he might be a bouncer for the bar. He was about to promise to escort his drunk friend out, when the man spoke.
"You are invited to the V.I.P. area." The man gestured to a less crowded section of the bar and Ohm followed his outstretched arm to see a single man sitting at a table, eyes steady and on him from across the bar. He couldn't make out details but Ohm could tell he was well put together from how he sat and sipped his drink. Every movement seemed precise.
Though intrigued, now was not the time to mingle when he had a drunk friend potentially sobbing in a bar's bathroom.
"Oh. Um, I'm flattered but I really can't. I need to help my friend," he said politely, not wanting to appear rude.
For some reason the guy looked confused. He blinked and seemed to try again, as if Ohm hadn't understood. "He requested your presence."
Ohm thought the guy was acting peculiar but maybe he was just trying to be a good wing-man for his friend. Even if he seemed socially awkward. Or maybe socially stiff is a better description.
"Right... and any other time, I would gladly meet him. Please tell your friend I'm sorry but I'm really tied up - my friend is very drunk and I need to make sure he gets home safe." Ohm offered a sincere smile, eyes glancing to the man in the distance who was watching their exchange. The man before him frowned deeper and opened his mouth as if to say something but was interrupted.
"Ooohm! Ohm!" Bosston suddenly threw his arm around Ohm's neck and Ohm had to quickly adjust to support his weight. "Why you flirting? Leaving me too?"
"I'm not flirting and couldn't even if I wanted to because of your drunk ass!" Ohm griped.
His friend was pouting again. "It's my fault no one can find love. Not me! Not you! Not this guy!" Bosston was gesturing as he spoke and Ohm managed to wrangle him in before swatting the stranger.
"You're so dramatic when you're drunk like this, Boss." Ohm muttered and then looked to the stranger apologetically. "Sorry, I really need to get this guy out of here. Please apologise to your friend for me."
And with that, he guided his friend to the exit, sending a friendly wave to the man who had wanted to meet him as they made their way out.
What he didn't see was the raised brow and curious eyes that followed him.

Ohm was back at the bar a few nights later, not that he went out a lot, but his mind had been stuck on the man in the V.I.P. area. He couldn't stop wondering who he was and why he had sent his -very tense- friend to approach him. Was he shy? But most of all, what had he done to draw attention to himself? He played the night out in his head and most of it was spent babysitting Bosston. He didn't understand why a guy who seemingly had money or position of some kind to be classified as V.I.P., would be interested in him.
Also, he hadn't got a clear look at the guy but he seemed handsome and he really wanted a closer look...
He'd just gotten his drink and did another scan of the place when he saw him sitting in the same spot as before. What were the chances! Ohm smiled at his luck and decided to just go for it.
