I do not own any of the characters except Victoria and Marianna Valentyne. Sorry for any typos, I do type these up pretty quickly and do not notice any errors until after I post.

The sky was growing darker with each hour I spent alone in this cold room. "Maybe I should just go to sleep..." I sighed as I fell down on the bed hugging my knees to my chest.

Then again he would probably get mad, and I wasn't in the mood for another lecture.

I needed something to pass the time, anything would be better than sitting here thinking of how cold it is.

I slid off the bed and began searching through the room for anything, even a quill and parchment, I knew not to use my school things I would definitely need them later though they would end up with more doodles than actual notes anyway.

After searching for at least ten minutes I came across a broken quill, an almost empty pot of ink, and a few blank pieces of parchment.

"Good enough...."

I sat on the floor with the quill in hand, maybe I could just write to Marianna she had to be worried, well maybe not it wasn't like her to worry.

She knew I could handle myself, plus she probably thought I was just out goofing off somewhere anyway.

Marianna,

Hey, it's me your sister. Sorry I haven't made it to school I should be there shortly... tomorrow actually. Hopefully this letter reaches you before then otherwise this would be a complete waste of my time. Though it's nice to have a distraction, anyway no need to be worried that is if you are in the first place.... Well I hear footsteps I should go, see you at school.

Love, Victoria

I hurried to send the letter off with my new owl, prying the window open proved to be a task but surprisingly I finished before the footsteps reached the door.

Out of breath I sat back down on the bed, "And what were you doing?" Barty arched an eyebrow watching as I tried to catch my breath.

"Nothing, absolutely nothing." I smiled as nicely as I could.

"I don't like liars."

"Well I never said you had to like me...." I poked my tongue out at him.

"Where is the owl?" he questioned his gaze drifting to the empty cage.

"I let him out for a quick flight... he was restless." I answered shrugging my shoulders.

He took a deep breath before letting out an angry sigh, he was walking in my direction.

I could see the glow of a light from the corridor behind him, it made him seem much scarier than he normally was.

I inched my way back on the bed until my back hit the headboard, "Great.... I need better escape routes..." I groaned before looking back at him, he raised his hand at me.

My eyes were shut tightly expecting him to hit me, but it didn't happen I opened one of my eyes cautiously.

There was light, my eyes weren't used to it I felt as if I were blind.

"Since when was there a light in here?" I asked blinking my eyes trying to take in the change in the room.

"It's always been here, not my fault you're blind." he replied coldly.
