I removed my glasses as the airplane took off. Finally!
"Madamoiselle, do you need anything?"
Erin said to me. She's my personal assistant and she's a Filipina. Hmmm. Since I came here in the Philippines, I should at least speak Tagalog. Erin taught me some Filipino words when we were still in Europe.
"Yes, can you call an stewardee? I am thirsty." I said.

"Erin, where are we going to stay?"
"Ikaw talaga Madamoiselle. I taught you how to speak in Filipino so you should try speaking in our language."
"I am not fluent yet. And please stop calling me Madamoiselle. I am only 17 years old and you are 21 years old. It's kinda awkward."
"Eh what should I call you then?"
"Khy. Call me Khy."
"Okay Khy. Since nandito ka sa country namin doon ka muna titira sa probinsiya namin. Mer--"
I cut her off because she talked very fast and I can't understand a word.
"Wait Erin. Can you at least speak English when you have so much to say? It's hard to follow your language."
"Hahahaha okay. Khy, you will stay at our province and you will continue your study in the school which your parents have founded. My Aunt has a vacation house so you will stay there with one maid and a driver."
"I am going to drive my own. Fire the driver. Anyway, aren't you gonna stay with me?"
"Mada--este Khy, I will visit you often. I just wanna have this moment with my family."
"Hmm. Okay. How mnany hours from Manila to your province?"
"It will take at least 7 hours." Wooaahhh!! Seriously?! 7 hours?! That's a long way drive.
"You can sleep first if you want."
I just closed my eyes. -------------------------------------------------------------- "Khy, wake up. We're here."
I got disturbed by Erin's voice so I unwillingly opened my eyes. I looked up my phone and it's 5:00 in the morning already. I looked badly at Erin and she just laughed at me. She knows I hate being disturbed from my sleep.
"Don't look at me with that Khy. It's your first day to school. Didn't you know that?"
"Dang! I just arrived here and you're telling me it's my first day to school? Aren't the word 'rest' exists in your vocabulary."
"Hahaha Khy, come on! Get out of the van and get ready for school. I had already told the maid to make you a breakfast."
Aish! I hate it! I wanted to tell her that I will be absent for today but she will only nag me. I went outside the van and breathakingly saw how beautiful Erin's province is.
The breeze of the fresh air greeted me and the leaves of the trees dance with its rhythm with the birds singing along them. I looked at the greenery scene of the field with the sun rising.
After a moment of enjoying myself with the scene, I immediately prepared myself. Now I am ready to go to school.
"Listen Khy. No one is allowed to know that you are the daughter of the founder because if someone do, we're going back to Europe. Also, if your classmates speak to you in Filipino, answer in Filipino. And remember, you will not stay here for long."
Erin spoke to me while I am driving our way to school.
"Okay. Anyway, how are you gonna uwi?"
"Hahahaha conyo ka girl? Magcocommute ako Khy."
I looked at her with my questioning look. Dang! What is she saying?
"Whatever. I think we are here. Goodbye!"
I told her as soon as I parked the car. The blueprint of this school was shown to me. So I basically know where is what. I am assigned to room 4A. I looked at my watch and OMG! It's already 8:00! I am 15 minutes late.
I knocked at the door and my teacher looked at me.
"So you are the exchange student from Europe?"
"Yes po. And I apologized for being late. I just arrived here early this morning."
"It's okay. Introduce yourself in the class."
I tried my best to smile and walked in front of them confidently.
"Hi. I am Khyryn Andrea Smith,years old from Europe. I'll be staying here for a school year. I can understand few Filipino words."
"Ah, Miss Smith, can you remove your face mask so we can see your face."
OMG! It's really embarrassing! I even forgot to remove my face mask.
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry. I am kinda nervous."
They looked at me with an amusing look. I turned my back to them and remove my mask. And I faced them.

"Is there any problem?"
A long silence took over until one of them stands and said,
"WAAAHHHH! KAMUKHA MO SI Y-----"
