Need some company?

September 2001,

He opened the candle's package with his small hands slowly trying to not wake up his sleeping father, he putted the candles on the small brownie,sang the birthday song silently then he blew after wishing for a better life.
The little boy was celebrating his 7th birthday alone like every year. That's Kim Namjoon who lives with his father, his mother passed away on his birthday when he was 3 years old because of cancer, after his mother's death his father became an alcoholic but he never treated Namjoon in a bad way, he loved him sincerely but he just lost his mind when he wife passed away.
Namjoon is a smart kid he is a fast learner and he always fascinate everyone with his intelligence, he was successful in everything related to studies but he was a failure in making friends either he end up getting bullied or being punished for something he never did, he was a very weak child who can never defend himself, his social life was really messed up and he didn't care that much, he just wants to have a simple life with his father and that's how his life was going like until that day arrived.
He was studying as usual in his room when his father came in, he was really surprised because usually in this time of the day his father would be drinking and crying in the kitchen. Mr Kim "hey son how you doing?" Namjoon paused for a while thinking 'since when my father asks about how am i doing? The only conversation that we usually have is on the dinner table about my mom. Weird'
Namjoon raised his head and said "I'm doing well dad, anything wrong?"

"actually there's a woman called me earlier she said that she is Soobin's mother and she invited you to a sleepover in his house with your other classmates tonight"

Namjoon wasn't sure if he is hearing his dad well or he drank more than usual so he asked "dad are you sure?"

"yeah so sure! You don't know the kid?"

"i know him we are classmates but we never talked"
"maybe he wants you to be friends? Cmon little kid it's your chance to make some friends i know that I'm not giving you too much but i want you to live your life and enjoy it"

Namjoon didn't think twice and answered him "thanks dad but I'm fine i wanna spend the night here"

"you're studying a lot you need to go out and have fun, please do it for me "
Namjoon sighed and gave his father a small nodd announcing his approval, he prepared his bag,wore his sneakers and went out, he know the location of Soobin's home since he see him everyday in the way back home after school.
Namjoon POV
I'm in front of the house's door and the idea of going back home is literally stucked in my head, i took some steps back until the door suddenly was opened by Soobin's mother so i cursed myself for being slow in taking my decision. His mother smiled and greeted me

"hi little man! You must be namjoon because everyone else is here"

i bowed politely and answered "yes that's me"
she smiled and guided me inside where everyone was playing and laughing, i saw Soobin approaching me saying
"hm I'm surprised i didn't expect you to come but anyways you're welcome!"
I smiled then i said hi to the others and everything went back as i found it 'the mess and the noise' i glanced at my watch and it was exactly 8pm, the usual sleeping time for kids in this age is 10pm but since they're together they will try hardly to stay up until midnight but their bodies will gave up on 11:30pm so technically i have three hours and 30mins to spend with them so i'll do my best to not interact with them. I found an empty sofa in the corner close to the window so i sat there, i took my novel and i started reading. After 10mins one of the boys named Daniel came and said "hey we will play hide and seek come and join us" i answered him simply "no thanks I'll just sit here and watch you playing" he cutted me off saying "oh cmon don't be boring" he snatched the book out of my hands and threw it on the table, i sighed and followed him. Daniel "okay go and hide ya'll and i will find you I'll start counting go now!" In few seconds everyone disappeared but i decided to make it easy on him so i hided myself in the closet and locked the door, after few minutes of staying in that small closet i felt that i really need to pee, i couldn't hold it anymore so i tried to open the door but i couldn't i pushed and kicked it i felt the lack of oxygen killing me i was sweating and my heart was beating so fast and there it is. I peed on myself. Right after that Soobin's mother opened the door and everyone was behind her looking at me. Henry "eww he peed on himself what a kid!" Daniel "omg Soobin he peed on your clothes that's disgusting" they started laughing and i couldn't take it anymore , i jumped out of the closet i grabbed my bag and went out of the house ignoring  Soobin's mother.
I felt so horrible i regretted going there and i laughed at my stupid thoughts about the possibility of making some friends and changing my life routine.
I was walking in fast pace and fighting back my tears until a manly voice interrupted my tragedy, i raised my head finding an old man standing in front of me. I've never seen him before ,he was wearing a long walnut topcoat with a beret on his head covering his dark golden brown hair a bit and he completed his look with an aviator glasses, he was smiling softly. I checked the time and it was 10:45pm the best timing for kidnapping a kid. I stared at him and asked "who are you? What do you want from me?" He kneed and smiled again "don't worry i won't hurt you, are you lost?" I glared at him and answered "no i know my way" he said "I'm new here, do you mind if i walk with you? I want some company" i ignored his question and walked pass him but he kept walking by my side saying "I'll take it as a yes then, so what's your name?" I answered him "kim namjoon, and you? " i don't know why i asked for his name but somehow i felt that i needed some company too he interrupted my thoughts saying " Jin, that's my name" .
