"What is this?" Xiao Zhan asked while staring at the helmet he is now holding.
"A helmet." Wang Yibo chuckles and looks at the guy who is cutely staring at the helmet while pouting.
"I can clearly remember, you are trying to save that ice cream while running for your life from that dog," Yibo said nonchalantly.
Xiao Zhan just look down and sighed. Indeed, he saves some dollars for that special ice cream that he always wanted to taste once a year. The truth is, it is his birthday today.
Since his parents died when he was young and was adopted by Jiang Family which is his father's best friend, Mr. and Mrs. Jiang treat him like their own child, and every year on his birthday, they always celebrate it with his favorite ice cream.
Jiang Cheng and Jiang Lu will sing him a happy birthday song and he is thankful for having them in his life. But a tragic accident took Mr. and Mrs. Jiang's life making the three of them live on their own and Xiao Zhan needs to stop his studies to let the two continue and support his siblings.
He worked hard daily on his regular job at the cafe near the university and some part-time jobs. Any work that can help their daily needs and pay bills and expenses, he will grab the opportunity as long as it is clean money. He wants the two to focus on their studies, he loves his A-cheng and Lu-Jie that he is willing to sacrifice everything to support them.
Today his boss allowed him to work a half-day and celebrate his birthday but it seems he is unfortunate and harassed by that dog. It reminds him of Jiang Cheng who gave up and let go of all his dogs just for him and to make him feel comfortable in their house. He feels his face flushed red from embarrassment realizing the fact about the ice cream.
"I want to replace it. The dog is owned by my friend, can I?" Yibo asked.
"I don't have extra money at all to pay you ba~..." Yibo cut him off by putting his right index finger on his lips.
"Sssshhh. It's my treat." Xiao Zhan's eyes twinkle with happiness and quickly shake his head up and down and smile showing his bunny teeth. He loves that ice cream so he is very happy and became shameless. Xiao Zhan can't understand himself, he is like a kid right now being fooled and soon to be kidnaped by goons just because he was offered ice cream. But his mind is not cooperating with his heart. His mind is contradicting while his heart says that this person in front of him is a good man and no bad intention.
"So let's go!" Xiao Zhan didn't move. "I never ride on a bike. I'm scared." Wang Yibo stared at him as if he is studying the sincerity of the man if he is telling the truth. He grabs Xiao Zhan's hand and feels the sweat on his palm. He presses it and just nods without breaking the stare in his eyes.
