~Being born into the Royal Family is like being born into a mental asylum. Marrying into it is not something to be taken lightly. (John Lydon)~

I did not get to walk my beautiful mate home because I got called away. Apparently my twin is nowhere to be found. After hours of searching the castle grounds and everywhere he hides I hear his voice. "Brother!" I must know where he went. "I heard you had left. Where did you..." My eyes lock onto my mate, who is standing on the landing below me right beside my brother. "You followed me?"
The one time he leaves the castle he follows me? Not only that but he brings my mate to a place far too dangerous for her. "Well, why don't you both tell me and, stop all this cryptic bullshit!"
My sweet little mate raises her voice, catching our attention. I reach my hand out to her. "Come, we will sit and talk."
Hesitantly she places her small hand in my much larger one. Gently I enclose her fingers with mine and lead her to the day room with Ealron close behind. Once we reach the room she seats herself in a chair forcing Ealron and I to share the couch across from her. As I go to open my mouth she holds her hand, stopping me. "First off, I am Millicent." She points to herself giving the most angelic name before pointing to my brother, "He is Ealron and you are?" She raises one quizzical brow as he points to me.
"Leonidas, son of Yesle, king of Astra." Pursing her lips together Millicent leans back in the chair. At the same time her left leg crosses over her right and her arms cross as she places her right index along the center of her lips. I take this as my sign to continue. "Astra is one of the three kingdoms of the sun. We are the oldest and the wisest. The kingdom of Astra houses the Elves. There is the kingdom of Saxa which houses the grimy dwarves, and the kingdom of Arba, that houses the childish Fea. Ealron and I are the first of the Elven race. We are a kind, peaceful people that have been through a time that only one other race lived." I watch her expression to see if any of this is settling in. She is just watching me intently and there is no way for me to know what she's thinking or how she feels.
Instantly her eyes move to Ealron as he picks up. "There are also three kingdoms of the moon. The oldest of which is the kingdom of Luanea, which houses the filthy hemophage. The hemophages are also in command of the ghouls, seeing as how most are dim enough that they lose their own heads. The kingdom of Shaden holds the mutts." I am quick to elbow him, yes they are filthy dogs but we should, as rulers, at least call the by what they are. "The lycans." He glares at me for a moment before turning his attention back to Millicent. "The last group is the kingdom of Atiqua, where the Mer reside with their Siren queen."
Ealron pauses and watches her. After what seems like hours of silence Millicent finally responds. "So you are the king of the most ancient civilization and have everything you could ever want. Why come to walk among humans?"
That was not the initial reaction I was expecting, "Well I had everything except one thing. Had I not ventured into the human kingdom this year, as I do every year, I would never have found you."
She raises a brow and continues, "That does not answer my question, Leonidas." Hearing my name leave her lips causes a shiver to crawl down my spine and I want to make her say it again but I compose myself and answer her question.
"The elves are full of wisdom and no other kingdom wishes to learn. The humans are young and stupid. I want to introduce them to the world they are part of and teach them but they are violent and destroy the things they don't understand even if it is human. So I go every year to see if anything changed."
