AMELIA POV

I woke up the next morning wondering what the time is. Looking at my phone I saw that it's only ten in the morning. I shut my eyes again, wanting to continue my sleep. Just when I was about to fall asleep someone opened the door of my room hard. Way too hard. Why must everyone annoy me in the mornings. Can't I get a day off? I didn't have to open my eyes knowing that it was my mom barging in my room. I heard her walking towards my curtains. I threw the blanket over my head. I sighed knowing what her next move was after opening the curtains. I hold tightly on my blanket, as if my life was depending on it. I heard her laughing and just as I thought, she started pulling on my blanket.

''Get your lazy bum out of this bed right now.'' She now pulled the blanket harder and got if off me. ''Clean your room. What is this for a mess?'' Leaving my blanket on the floor, she walked out of my room. Leaving the door wide open behind her.

Two facts about me: I hate open doors and I am not a morning person.

I got out of my bed and closed the door and curtains. Picking my blanket of the floor and got back in bed. As if he knew, my brother knocked on the door, without waiting he opened the door and stood besides my bed. I struggled opening my eyes and grumbled a ''What do you want?''.

''And? Can I come?'' When I finally could open my eyes, I saw him waiting patiently for my response. Eyes grew bigger because of excitement. ''If I answer, will you leave me alone till tonight?'' I asked him, raising one of my eyebrows. He nodded his head. ''Yes, you can come.'' Out of nowhere he screamed and was pumping his fist in the air. ''Can you get out now?'' He ran out of room, leaving the door open. I glared at the door wanting it to close itself, but it didn't. Giving up, I got out of bed and went downstairs for some breakfast.

Entering the kitchen, I saw that everyone was already seated by the table. Scanning what is on the table, I saw pancakes. ''Rude! How could you guys not tell me that there were pancakes.'' I took a seat by the table and got some of the delicious pancakes.

''So, I heard you got a ticket for you brother, that is nice of you Amelia.'' My dad spoke to me. ''He didn't really give me a choice. He offered ice cream in return.'' I smiled with a mouthful of pancakes. I heard my dad laughing and then he continued reading the newspaper. Not paying more attention to us.

My dad works as a heart surgeon. We don't see him a lot home, mostly he is at work and my mom on the other hand is a lawyer. She also can be very busy; the thing is that she works at home. My younger brother, Aiden is 21 years old. He hates it that he isn't the older one, there is two years difference between us. Our parents weren't always around. We had different of babysitters, till I finally was old enough to watch after myself and Aiden.

After breakfast I went back to my room, I searched for my phone under the blanket and texted in the group chat to the two of my closest friends. I have known them for eleven years, we grew up all together, we share everything with each other. Some friends aren't really friends, they're family.
