Chapter 1

6 months later...

(Pounding on the door) "Hope! Aurora! wake up and get in the car!" I stumbled out of my bed and hit the floor. Hope laughs as I lazily sit up and pout. If there's one thing I hate in the world, it's being woken up before I want to. "Let's go before he comes back and drags us to the car." With a pout remaining on my face, I drag myself out the door and to the car. I huff as I get in and roll my eyes at Alaric for waking me up at this ungodly hour. He laughs at me as well and shakes his head. "Good morning to you too Aurora." Hope finally gets in the car and we start to pull off of the school parking lot.

"So where are we going?" Hope finally asks. I lift my head up, curious as to what his answer was as well. "There's a new wolf and tonight is a full moon. We have to catch him before he has his first transition." I nod as I take in the information. "Why am I needed? I don't have powers or anything and I'm not very useful." Dr. Saltzman laughs before saying "Well you seem to have a power that no one else has. You can calm down Hope if needed." She rolls her eyes at him with a faint blush on her cheeks. "Even if you don't need to calm her down you would've been down my neck about how I took her away from you while you were sleeping." Now it was my turn to blush. For the past five months I've been super close to Hope. The first month of me staying at the school was hectic and she wasn't too pleased with having a roommate, but then I had a nightmare or a vision as Emma called it, that scared me and she was the only one who was able to calm me down. Since then we've been inseparable and I can't sleep without her or go a few hours without her being around me.

We finally arrived at the church and there was a strange looking boy on the stairs. He had his headphones in and wasn't looking at us. Hope gets out of the car first. "Landon?" The strange boy now known as Landon looks up at us. He takes out one of his earbuds. "Hope?" I look between the two. "You two know each other?" Doctor Saltzman asks. I had a weird sense of anger and fear but it wasn't mine. I know it wasn't Hope because she just had a sense of confusion. Seeing as she knows Landon somehow and they are surprised to see each other I could guess it's because of him. An uneasy feeling overwhelms me and I yell for Doctor Saltzman. "Hope the doors" She blows off the doors with her magic and they enter. I turn to Landon. "From experience I think it's best to stay out here and stay out of the way." As I go to walk inside he grabs me by the wrist to stop me. "Wait, what's happening? Why can't I..." Suddenly everything blurs and all I see is ash, and fire. I quickly pull away from him in shock and rush inside to join Hope and Alaric.

They had just gotten Rafael chained down and he was transitioning. "I thought she told you to stay outside?"Hope yelled at Landon. I guess I didn't realize that he followed me in. As Hope and Landon were bickering and Alaric was trying to get them to stop, Rafael's transition was over. All of their emotions we're getting to me and made me overwhelmed. The heightened sense of anger took over me and I couldn't take it anymore. "SHUT UP PLEASE" I scream. It was too much at once and I couldn't handle it anymore. It felt like something took over me and before I knew it I blacked out.
