Chapter 2 : Shadows of Past

Chapter 2 :

Jai came into her room and lay on her bed. What a tiring day. Then something catch her attention as she look at her dresser. It was the photo of two young girls smiling while eating their ice cream. Ahh, suddenly a painful memory flash back as she misses her cousin.

1 years ago...

Jai ,Jai where are you? tawag sa kanya ni Xue

I'm here sissy at my room ~Jai shout out loud

And here comes Xue smiling as she enters the room.

Oh you look so happy, nasa gate ka plang dinig ko na ang tawag mo, don't tell me you won the lottery? Are we going to shop? ~ Jai

Silly, alam mong di ako tumataya ng lotto. But its more than that. ~ Xue

Really what is it? Pag hindi mo pa sinabi kakalbuhin kita! ~Jai

Ouch, grabe ka talaga pinsan ba talaga kita Jairita? ~Xue

Hindi mo lang ako pinsan, bestfriend at ako ang pinakamamahal mo sisteret. Kaya spiel it out~Jai

Well , remember yung nakwento ko sayong guy na nakilala ko sa bar 2 weeks ago.~Xue

Yes, yung nakasayaw mo tas kinuha yung number and now super textmate mo na. What about him? ~Jai

Well, he ask me out on a date this Friday and I say Yes. ~Xue

Really, ang bilis naman nya tas pumayag kana agad? PBB Teens ang peg?! ~ Jai

Jai hindi naman ako kasing manang mo noh, and besides I really like him . You should have seen him super gwapo, matangkad, mabait, smart , hunk a Charmer indeed. I think his the man of my dreams. ~Xue

Wow, grabe ang lakas ng tama mo sa kanya ha. Well pinayagan ka ba ni Tita to meet him? ~Jai

Yes, but I didn't actually told them that I'm going for a date, sabi ko I'll be in Bebx's place for a group study w/ Monica and Ann. ~Xue

Liar, and now your here dahil gus2 mong i cover up ko ang kalokohan mo?! ~Jai

Jai I know you love me much para ibuko kay na Mama at Papa diba. Akala ko ba sabi mo magkakampi tayo hanggang sa huli, kaya nga sinasabi ko sayo ang totoo. Magagawa mo ba akong ilaglag? ~ Xue

Ok, fine just be safe, sya nga pala will be out for 2 weeks . Gusto kasi ni Papa na bisitahin namin yung relatives niya in Davao miss na raw nya and they want to see me narin tutal summer vacation pa naman. - malungkot na balita ni Jai.

Oh ngayon palang mamimiss na kita sissy~ Xue

Hmp, paano mo ako mamimiss eh meron ka na ngang pinagkakaabalahan. -tampong sabi ni Jai

Syempre hindi naman kita ipagpapalit sa kahit na sinong lalaki noh, your my one and only sissy. ~Xue

Jai can't help but hug her and tears flow down her cheeks, its a bit hard kasi ngayon lang sila magkakahiwalay ulit. Since they were kids laging silang magkasama B1 at B2 nga ang tawag sa kanila.

They were the partners in crime in all. Palibhasa both of them were only Child kaya't higit sa magpinsan, magkapatid ang turing nila sa isat isa.

2 weeks pass.....

Constantly ang text at tawagan nilang magpinsan, she always had a story to tell about her now boyfriend Bryan.

Sissy bad news we can't go home yet kasi namatay ang Tito ni Papa, so we had to stay a little more days to fix thing up. Ayaw naman ni Mama na iwan si Papa dahil super close sila ni Lolo Michael kaya super upset si Papa ngayon.~Jai

Ok, sissy I understand naman just bring me the best pasalubong there is in Davao.~Xue

Syempre naman I'll buy it all for you, ok ka lang ba ? You sound so sad me problem kaba?~Jai

Ahh wala naman na mimiss lang talaga kita. ~Xue

I'll be there soon mabilis naman ang mga araw in time nanjan na ako pra sabay tayong mag enroll sa next sem. ~Jai

Jai you know that I love you diba ? ~ Xue

Yes and I love you too , oh sya tama na itong madrama nating usapan. I'll see you soon. ~Jai

Pinutol na ni Jai ang usapan nila dahil hindi na nya mapigilan ang paghikbi at alam nyang gayundin ito by the sound of her voice.

Xue must have been terribly lonely dahil sila lang nman ang madalas magkasama. Xue's parents were both busy running their business abroad  that most of the time naiiwan syang mag isa. She was a lonely child and her only comfort is Jai.

She's back after a month's away from home , she didn't tell it to Xue aim to give her surprise.

Sissy I'm home where are you? ~Jai

Manang si Xue po? Excited na tanong ni Jai

Ah ikaw pala Jai malamang nasa room nya hindi pa nga bumababa puntahan mo nlang.Matutuwa yon simula ng umalis ka laging ng tahimik at nasa kwarto nya lang. Mabuti at bumalik ka na.

Thanks, Manang marami nga akong dalang pasalubong pra sa kanya naiwan ko nga po sa labas pakuha nlang po.~Jai

She went up to see her , nagulat pa sya na nakalock yun. She knocks and call her name but she didn't even reply , she stick her ears in her door to know if Xue was really there. She heard an agony of pain and Xue's cry. She felt a sudden fear whats happening with her. She look for the spare keys and open the door.

Nabigla sya sa kanyang nakita , Xue is lying on the floor with her cut wrist and with blood all over her. Instantly lumapit sya upang saklolohan ito , pinunit ang kapiraso ng damit nia upang pigilan ang pag agos ng dugo nito.

Xue gumising ka anong ginawa mo , nandito na ako - takot na takot na si Jai.

Manang tulungan nyo ako , dalhin natin si Xue sa hospital- sigaw nia habang walang tigil ang kanyang pag iyak . Dumilat si Xue at pinilit na ngumiti "Jai" mahinang sabi nia.

Pleaase Xue stay with me , dont leave me nandito na ako stay strong for me please . ~Jai

That painful memory lingers in her mind It was so traumatic for Jai that she become so numb. Halos ilang araw din syang tulala at hindi makapagsalita iyak ng iyak sa sinapit ni Xue. She lost alot of weight and she was confine for 3days in the hospital due to dehydration and stress. She had to take sleeping pills pra makatulog ng maayos. Oneday a call from her Lola Murcia made a difference in her life, and it changed her.

Sweety, wake up ready na ang dinner, your Papa is waiting for us. ~ Mama ni Jai

Yes Ma, I'll be down stair in few minutes , sagot nya na pilit iniwasang tingnan ang Mama nya upang di nito mapuna ang mugto nyang mata ng dahil sa pag iyak.
