Imprinted Pain
To remember the memories of pain,
The sound of screaming over laughter.
Dreams of a warm never ending rain,
No nightmares of happily never after
Imprinted with blood upon the wall,
Vivid images of suffering hurt and scars
Left in time for some to recall.
Or to be forgotten like the dimmed night stars
The stories of history still flowing by,
Pleas to be freed from the ongoing roll.
A nightmare of battle lingers in the night,
Embrace the thought of death
Ever so cold.
