It was the last class of the day. Kara walked into her calculus class with Jace walking only a few steps behind her. He had kept his promise, barely leaving her side.
"Think Lawrence will be here today?" Jace joked as he placed his hand on Kara's shoulder. She soon joined in with his laughter as they entered the class.
"I guess so." She giggled more as her eyes laid upon Mr. Lawrence and they found our seats. Kara looked over to Jace who's blue/green eyes stared over at her.
"What's wrong?" She asked him holding onto the side of her desk and leaning closer to him. As he leaned back in his chair, he continued staring silently. After a few more seconds, he opened his mouth.
"You're just so beautiful." He whispered, leaning in a bit to get closer to her. Kara slowly sat farther in her chair and quietly placed the loose strand of hair behind her ear as her cheek began heating up.
"Stop it." She jokingly protested before swinging her arm and landing a strong punch onto Jace's arm.
"Ah!" He winced, holding onto his tender arm, but being unable to resist the will to laugh. Kara couldn't hold it in either, so as she eased back laughter erupted between the two of them.
"Alright, settle down now!" Lawrence announced to the class as a he waved his hand towards two people in the front. Jace and Kara both silenced themselves looking forward towards their teacher as he spoke. "Now, I want you all to make these two feel welcomed-"
"What the hell?" Kara heard Jace whisper as Mr. Lawrence finished his announcement of the new students. She quickly looked towards Jace as he sat up straight and stared intensely at the front.
When she turned back, her gazed fell on a girl. The girl was shorter, like Kara, and had light brown hair that was pin straight. She wore dark black leggings and comfortable hoodie. Then, Kara's gaze shifted onto the other figure that stood beside the girl. It was a boy and looking into his dark brown eyes, she felt a familiarity.
"Apollo Carter and Lindsay Lolthy. I am glad you both will be able to join us this semester." As Kara's stare remained on Apollo, he soon started staring back.
Not long after, Kara felt a sort of uncomforted of his eyes on her, so she turned away.
"Who's that?" Kara asked, now facing Jace. He remained tense, still staring at the front, disregarding or failing to hear his girlfriend.
Kara followed his gaze and saw it was directly placed on Apollo. As she looked at Apollo, once again, she could see him staring just as intensely at Jace. Kara watched as the two remained locked until Apollo took his seat
"Jace?" Kara whispered, turning away from Apollo now fixing her eyes on Jace as Mr. Lawrence started his lecture for the day. Jace's bitter expression remained as he slide back into his seat. Kara finally gave up on her attempts and sat back, thinking to herself.
Apollo's face looked so familiar to her yet she had no memory of him. She couldn't let go of the idea that she knew him or at least saw him once before.
Finally the last bell of the day rang. Kara quickly picked up my books and started to walk slowly out of the class. Jace was strongly present at her side. This action although not foreign to kara, seemed oddly suspicious. They continued walking down the hallway, silently.
"What are you doing?" She turned her body slightly confronting Jace of his overprotective actions. They both kept walking slowly as Jace stayed silent. Jace's face was slightly insulted by Kara's words, but he did not respond. As one more attempt to get through to him, Kara turned her head around.
