The sunrays sting my eyes through my transclucent curtain, forcing me to wake up. I put on my glasses and look at the alarm which is bound to ring in 52 minutes.05:08 said the alarm in a big red blocky font. I still have enough time for a quick nap. I mean, what could go wrong during it? I pulled open the metal door quickly and rushed for Chemistry class. I ran down the quiet hallway and saw a man in a blue-ish gray suit. I stopped and asked "Hi, I'm Adrien Doesaisha do you happen to know where the lab is?" "Well, of course I'm the principal here. I'm supposed to know that, the lab's down the left wing" the man replied. I slowly then realized who i was talking to."Oh oh, President Hallis. Val reached there before I did and was already knocking on the door.I push her aside and whispered "what are you doing? Are you crazy?!"As I was being frustrated and whispering slash yelling at Valetina, Nico opened the door, looking very blistering. I think he had a haircut, what was once a messy hair have now become a low fade. He said in his fruity husky voice, "Hey guys, what are you doing here"Val pushes me aside ,while i was staring at him in awe and admiration, and said "Hi Nico, yea uhhh Adri has something to tell you""Oh okay, Adri what is it?""Oh it's nothing, Val's just trying to prank you"Val seemed to be annoyed by that. Then she said "right, totally, I'm just trying to prank you Nico"While she was saying that, she put her hands on my soldier. Then suddenly she pushed me and Nico inside the room and blocked the door.I'm standing still like a statue, still trying to process what happened in the last few seconds then I heard Nico beat on the door."Valentina! Ten minutes later, dad arrived in his patrol car. Nico followed behind me and said "Is it cool if I follow with you guys? Val's my friend too""Hey Dad? Nico spent playing Uno with Dad and I until 9:00pm. He also promised to come meet us again at 10:00 am.After Nico went back, I fell asleep like a rainbow-colored log. When I woke up, it was already 11am. Nico still haven't arrive yet. I reached for my phone to text him. I sent him a few messages but he did not respond at all. He's probably asleep after a really early morning.Then the door opened, it was dad in his uniform but weirdly he held him hat and kept it close to his chest. "Huh, What's the crime this time? Robbery?" "Actually Adri, I want to talk to you about something.""Yeah, sure go ahead""There's been a shooting at the Pulse club."Then my mind raced into a thousand feeling, my heart beated faster than a drummer."Awww crap, is Nico okay?""actually, no. Then I went out with dad at around 6 to buy a tux. After we bought it, we went straight to the ceremonyThe ceremony was very respectfully decorated with candles and pictures of the lost ones."Hey, You're up" said President Hallis. I took a deep breath and psyched myself up for the speech. I got up on the stage and tapped on the mic. That got everyone's attention, so i started the speech. "Dear Friends and Family, you already know about what happened at the Pulse Club tonight, some of you might have lost close ones just like me. But we can prevent others from losing theirs by fixing this wretched homophobic community. The LGBTTQQIAAP meanslesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, pansexual. But you dont have to remember the whole acronym or all of the identites. You can simply identify them as humans. Being gay is not a crime. Being bisexualdoes not mean someone is a slut. Being Non-Binary does not mean they want a special privilage. Boys who like lesbians but hate gays and girls who want gay best friends but feel akward around lesbians can go screw yourself. I am not making you to accept the idea for the LGBT Community but for the good of all of us. For leaving a better future for your kids. So please, dont be homophobic. Even when you don't accept the whole idea of it, please keep it inside the corner of your mind and don't do these evil acts. Stop using God or religion to justify your actions. Even if you tried to use religion, then here's a bible verse for you. Thou shalt love your neighbor as you love thyself!" As i said the last sentence, tears started rolling down my eyes. I do not have anymore to say and even if i did, i would not be able to so i ended my speech "Thank you." Some applauded, some didn't. But i don't care. Then i see Val, in a wheel chair, her best friend Betty was pushing it for her. Val comes near me and said "Hey, great speech, good job kiddo" The sight of her being back to normal puts a smile on my face. "Thanks but don't call me kiddo. Besides, what are you doing here""Hey, Nico was my friend too." "I guess you're right"We walk around for a bit then sit on a bench. I wiped them off and looked up to the skys, where Nico belongs.
