The topic was left unopened after their silent pleading of it between the couple. Jimin felt so bad about not granting his husband's wish. He also wanted it himself in order for them to have a complete and thriving family. But the universe seemed to not favor him, just yet.
Jimin and Jungkook settled on what they have and they were very contented about it. Of course, Jimin believed that Jungkook wouldn't mind having additional member to their family. In fact, he might be more ecstatic if that happens. But for Jungkook, seeing his beloved husband seemed to not be comfortable and ready yet about the idea made him throw his unsaid desire, for now.
Jimin was fixing their table after they finished having their breakfast. His husband was already left when he received a phone call.
"Hello, who's this?" he politely asked since the caller's number wasn't registered to his phone.
"Hello, Jimin-ah?" the person on the other line asked carefully. Jimin was shocked and felt an overwhelming excitement upon hearing the familiar deep voice he never heard of for years.
"Taetae?!" Jimin exclaimed. He could hardly believe that after so many years, he would still hear the voice of his long lost childhood friend. "I-is it really y-you, Taetae-ah?"
He didn't hear a word after that instead, a quiet sob escaped the latter's mouth.
Jimin was in panic at the sudden outburst he heard. He shushed Taehyung through phone in attempt to coax and calm the other.
"Ss-shush, my Taetae. What happened? Please stop crying." Jimin pleaded, getting anxious about Taehyung's current condition.
"J-Jiminie, I n-need you. P-please." Taehyung weakly whimpered.
"Where are you, Taetae? Send me your address and I'll head there right away." Jimin replied.
A simple ok was said by Taehyung before the call ended. Jimin received a message shortly showing the address of Taehyung which happened to be an hour travel away from their house.
He hurriedly fixed himself and ran towards his car. He drove to the stated address and silently praying for the welfare of his childhood friend.
Upon reaching his destination, he was surprised on what he saw. He didn't know that his friend could live in a very populous and crowded place. The houses along the way were surely an unpleasant sight for others. The place was very secluded and much dense. His worry grew a lot as he search for the exact house of Taehyung.
When he spotted the address, he faced an old apartment that reeks with icky smell. He brushed it off and knocked on the door. After sometime, he heard some rustling inside and the door knob jiggled.
He was surprised by the sight in front of him. There was his once young, healthy and jolly childhood friend who was now in a disheveled state with horrible garment. His eyes were puffy and red, face full of tears and snot which the younger failed to swipe. A clear dark circle under his eyes and a seemingly permanent frown on its face.
Jimin didn't notice the tears escaping his eyes and launched himself towards the taller. He immediately engulfed Taehyung with his warm embrace in attempt to lessen the clear exhaustion and pain he's going through.
He was bewildered by how thin his friend's body was. He mentally noted to make the poor guy eat well.
He pulled from the hug and invited himself inside and sat on the worned out sofa. They made themselves comfortable with each other as if there were no long amount of time that separated them. They let themselves lulled by the silence and small whimpers and sobs. Jimin couldn't take what happened to his friend.
After some soothing touches and whispers of comforting words, Jimin broke the silence.
"Are you okay now, Taetae?" he asked the younger. He knew how stupid the question sounded yet, he had no idea on how to start conversing with the Taehyung.
Taehyung didn't say a thing. He simply nodded and just hurled closer to Jimin, seeking for some sense of security.
Jimin consoled the younger while running his hands at the back of Taehyung, trying to bask the younger's distress.
"Taetae?" Jimin whispered. "I want to cuddle you all day long but let me cook something for you first. You're clearly not eating well."
Taehyung, being emotionally constipated and distressed he is, didn't let Jimin to escape and leave him. He tightened his hold to the smaller, hoping that Jimin would get what he wanted.
Being understanding and caring, Jimin just let the other do whatever he wished and chuckled at the younger's behavior. 'At least there's something left on the Taehyung I grew up with.' he thought.
They just ordered some take out and peacefully consumed it in the couch.
Jimin was dying with utmost curiosity. There were a lot of questions swimming into his head. He badly wanted to know what happened to Taehyung, but he didn't want to push the younger further. He knew that there's some deeper issues, or maybe too personal, behind this. He just let Taehyung open up by himself whenever the younger felt comfortable.
The respect and love that they have for each other didn't fade away eventhough they hadn't seen each other for a very long time.
Taehyung and Jimin were best friends since they were kids. They even considered themselves as platonic soulmates. Whenever they were together, other's would raise their brows. Some even assumed that they were dating but the two just found it hilarious and didn't mind their bizarre observations.
As long as they're in each other's wing, they couldn't care about the world. They're each other's strength in every problem, event, and even heartbreak that the one might happen to have.
Everyone around them believed that they're an unbreakable force due to the bond that they had created and imprinted throughout the time. But it seemed like even the strongest chain could be broken by any means.
Their friendship ended when Taehyung suddenly left Jimin in the middle of their Senior high school life. Taehyung was gone like as if just how a bubble popped. He didn't leave any traces of himself and left Jimin, his beloved best friend, without proper notice.
Jimin was really sad way back then. He wanted to feel remorseful and betrayed that time but the love he felt for the younger outweighed it. He believed that the younger had its own grave and serious reason as to why he just disappeared like that.
Jimin wanted to know those reasons, wanted to demand explanation. But seeing Taehyung in such state, he just brushed it off and saved it for later. He looked at Taehyung with so much fond. He could still his best friend's vulnerability.
On the other hand, Taehyung felt Jimin's gaze towards him. He felt guilty about their past. He felt so bad about himself yet, he wanted to be selfish just for now - just for once. He wanted the older's care and affection right now.
Taehyung held Jimin's smaller and warmer hand with his long thin hands then looked to his eyes.
"I-I'm sorry, Jimin-ah. What's supposed to be a happy reunion turned out like this." he said, sobbing while bringing his forehead to their intertwined hands.
The older just leaned forward to comfort the younger.
"It's okay, Taetae. I'm happy that I finally found you again." Jimin said genuinely.
If there were some questions that kept on bugging in Jimin's mind, he just set it aside - for now.
