(This chapter handles hate, serial killer comments, and threats. Read at your own risk)
I scrolled through the comments. It was breaking my heart.
"Why she look like that?"
"He could've done better."
"Probably using him for clout."
The tears rushed to my eyes. I knew dating an influencer would lead to some hate, but I didn't think it would feel this bad.
"Baby?" Josh's voice came from downstairs.
I wiped my nose quickly and rubbed my eyes.
"I'm in the room."
When he came in, he immediately noticed something was wrong.
"Hey, what's up? Is something wrong."
"No everything is fine Josh.
"No it's not. What happened."
He looked down at my phone. He saw the comments.
His facial expressions changed from concerned to angry.
"Oh baby, I'm sorry."
He wrapped his arms around me and held me close. He tucked my head under his chin.
"Josh, they don't even know me. This was supposed to be a happy first time they meet me. Why do they hate me?"
"That's just how they are my love. But it doesn't matter, all that does is if we love eachother."
"You're right. I'm overreacting."
-The Next Morning-
I screamed, bawling my eyes out on the floor.
"BABY! BABY WHAT HAPPENED!" Josh screamed as he ran to me on the floor.
He looked at my phone again. This time, death threats in my dms.
"Stay away from Josh or I'll kill you."
"I'll hurt your family if you don't break up with him."
"I'll be outside your window with a knife."
"You don't deserve him, just like your life, if you don't leave him."
"Are you fucking kidding me!" Josh yelled.
"Y/N, baby you listen to me, nothing will happen to you. I will never let anybody hurt you." He lifted up my head from my knees.
"Okay?"
I nodded, my lip quivering.
"I have to make a video, this needs to stop."
He filmed a tiktok of him explaining and telling people to stop and how much it hurts both of us. We thought it would stop, but it just kept coming. More rough and meaner.
After a week, I couldn't take it anymore. 8 months of dating and all it took was 1 week of officially being known together online destroyed it.
"Josh. I'm sorry, I can't do this. I knew what I was getting into when I started dating you but, I just can't take it anymore."
"Baby, please don't leave. I'll change. I'll leave social media for you! I love you!"
He yelled as I threw my last luggage into the car.
The tears burned into my eyes. The hard rain made it cold.
"I'm sorry. I love you too much to let you lose your whole life for me."
"Y/N. Please listen to me."
"YOU KNOW HARD THIS IS FOR ME! Josh, I love you so much. And I'm sorry it had to end this way."
"Baby, listen to me. We can work this out. I- I can work this out!"
Our foreheads were touching. The rain, making our hair soaked.
"J-Josh. Promise me. Promise me you'll find another girl, a girl who can handle all this. A girl who makes you happy. A girl who can do everything. And make her happy too. And once I see that, I'll be happy. Okay?" My teeth were chattering, and I was shivering.
"N-no. Y/N please. You make me happy."
He put his hand on my cheek. I grabbed it and held it close.
"I'm sorry Josh. I love you."
I kissed him one last time, before getting in my car to leave. Holding back my breakdown was hard, but I knew it was best for the both of us to be strong.
