Song: you belong with me-pride and prudence
Years ago my family went on a vacation in california and we rented a small old house to stay in for a few weeks. On the main floor was the kitchen, the living room and a bathroom. The bedrooms were on the second floor. There was a basement room downstairs with a washer and dryer, a sofa and and a TV. On the first night, we were all awakened by a terrible scream coming from my sisters bedroom. When my dad burst into her room and turned on the light, he found her sitting up in bed screaming and crying. My parents sat with her and comforted her until she finally calmed down enough to tell them what had scared her. She said that she had been awakened in the middle of the night by a horrible stench . When she opened her eyes, she had seen the entire bedroom soaked in blood from top to bottom. There was blood all over the floor, bloody handprints on the walls and blood splattered all over the ceiling. We all thought that she had just been having a bad dream, but she refused to go to her room.
Another night our parents were gone because they had went to the store. Me and my sister were hanging out in the basement when the lights went out. I gasped "C-caitlin what's that smell?" as a horrible stench filled the room, Caitlin whimpered "I don't know, Lilian". Right when I was going to ask something a hand, wet and warm grabbed my leg "Ahhhhhh! Get it off me! Get it of me!" I screamed. Caitlin pulled me to her saying nothing was wrong but I felt something on my leg, I know I did. We were calming down when the stench became unbearable; it's smell almost choking us. I decided we needed to leave, but right when we made a move to get up the lights flicked on and there by the door stood a young girl, she was soaked in blood and an oily liquid dripped from her mouth. For those few seconds we froze just staring, waiting for someone to move. The girl shifted and began running towards us. We hopped off the couch and ran to the other side of the room, trying to escape the young girl. Caitlin gasped for breath. "I... say we run... to the door and try... to overtake her," she wheezed out her last sentence before we scampered towards the door. The young girl laughed "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! COME HERE KITTIES!" and waited for them. Caitlin ran to one side while I zoomed to the left and we tried tackling her but she.... she disappeared from the doorway! We stood there frightened, searching all around us until we heard our mother's voice "Caitlin! Lilian! Were home!" We had never felt so happy to hear our mother's voice and zoomed up the stairs. When we were halfway up, we heard a scream... almost like... "MOM!" we yelled, flying up the other half of the stairway and running to the kitchen. When we were met with a gruesome scene. Blood dripped from the ceiling and the guts of their mother and father lay on the floor, the little girl standing above them with a bloody pair of rusted scissors. she started grinning and snipping the scissors. "Snip snip snip" is all Caitlin and I heard as we stood staring in disbelief at the sight in front of us.
Five long minutes passed as the girl got bored of waiting for our screams to stop and ventured towards us. Caitlin came out of her shock first and grabbed me as tears streamed down our faces matting our messy black hair. She stared into my green eyes "Lillian! We can mourn for them later, we have to escape first!" I stared at her for a minute her darker green eyes dilating, before realizing what she said and began sprinting towards the bedrooms on the second floor. Running into the closest, we closed it with a quick swipe of the lock. I stood still for a moment before I started trembling and dropped to my knees bawling, " Why! Why! H-how could she have killed them in a split second!"
Caitlin comforted me while tears also streamed her face " It's okay lily, It will be alright." She was also shaking. I sniffled and hugged her back "No it's not, it will never be alright."
As we hugged, a banging started on the door and we shook with fear. We heard the girl laughing "Little girls... open the door... I promise I won't hurt you" she said in a menacing voice. We stared at the door, willing it to stay shut. I looked at Caitlin and we shut our eyes as cracks formed on the door. I whispered "Caitlin, I love you" as tears reformed over my dry aching eyes and I squeezed her. Caitlin smiled down at me, " Lily, my sweet sister I will love always" and squeezed me back. Suddenly, when we were sure the door would break, we heard an amazing sound... the police had arrived. The neighbours most likely reported our screams to the authorities. We smiled as hope filled us. Mabye we will live I thought. But then it smashed in, wood flying everywhere "Ahhhhh!" we screamed as the girl appeared in the place our door once stood. She had a grin filled with malice and eyes burning with blood lust. Her stare was so deadly, so-so dark. There was no hope. We knew our lives were over, so we shut our eyes, hoping it would be over quickly. Minutes passed, when we realized nothing was going to happen we popped our eyes open and saw the girl no longer stood in the doorway. But in it's place, a message written in blood stood, "You accepted your fates which bore me, I'll wait till you think you are safe and attack so i can hear your beautiful screams..... Till Next Time My Kitties! HAHAHAHA". Seeing this we began to cry at the shock that it was over. We stayed crying even as police questioned us and paramedics helped us. It's over... But deep inside my stomach was twisting. What if it isn't...
Four Years Later~In my aunts house, I was sitting in my computer chair listening to music. Caitlin came in "Do you want to come to a party!" she squealed. I shook my head frantically "NOOOO!". She giggled and left. I was about to close my door when I heard a tapping on my window. " TapTapTap" so I walked over to it and I drew my curtains to see that it was... her. No- no no no, I thought. She smiled, a sadistic one and stuck a note on the window. Then she was gone. After some coaxing I decided to read the message she left on a little post-it : Hello, lily___ it's... Time.
