"I'm gonna kill you," Alexis whispered with a smirk.
"Wa...what?!" Oh no. I should have known this would happen. I don't even know this guy. How could I have been so stupid?
"Just kidding Yas," Alexis said. He teasingly punched my arm.
"Oh my god, what the hell! Don't scare me like that!" I said.
"Come on Yas, let's go," Alexis said whilst chuckling.
Now that I could relax, I saw all the people in the massive room that were cheering and laughing. The bass of the music was so loud it ran through your spine and made you want to dance. Purple and blue lights spun around the room, moving the people with it.
They were all so young, beautiful and lively. Tables were bulging with delicacies and amazing foods. White leather couches surronded the room, crammed with people talking and hugging. A slight haze filled the air. Everyone seemed so delighted to be in one another's presence. Who were these beautiful people?
Alexis took me in his arms and we danced, for hours.
It was too loud, so we had to communicate with ours eyes. His eyes were so entrancing. Chocolate brown with specks of gold. I lost myself in the intricate details of his beautiful eyes.
I tasted food that seemed to sing on my taste buds, and drunk cocktails that filled my mouth with smiles. I was so happy to be here with Alexis, though there were so many people, we felt like the only ones. We seemed to move with each other, as if we had done this many times before.
He must have sensed that I was starting to get tired as he offered me a refreshment and ushered me to follow him to the back of the large room. We squeezed between people, until we arrived into a sort of hall with the same layout as changing rooms, but instead they were about 2 metres wide each side, with a glass black door that was not transparent.
They had green or red lights above the door to show if they were occupied or not. Alexis placed his hand on the door of a vacant cubicle, which screened his hand and granted us access, sliding to expose the inside.
We stepped in as the door shut behind us, cutting out the sound of the party with it. The room seemed bigger on the inside. It was very dark, the only light sources were star like purple dots scattering the walls and floor. The room was filled by wide black couches, a bar with bottles of champagnes, a small cupboard and more soothing music playing in the background.
Alexis took a seat on the couch and beckoned for me to sit next to him. As I did, I could feel his heat radiating off. He seemed to smile at me staring at him. I felt heat rush to my cheeks.
"So, err, what's the deal with these rooms anyway?"
"These are for people who want, well, a little more privacy I guess. It's nice to get away from the noise." he smirked.
"Who are these people... There all so be-"
"Beautiful? Yeah I know. This is who this place is made for. See, they all share something in common, something special." He seemed to whisper the last words, like a secret.
"I think you have it too, Yas." he continued. "That's why I brought you here."
I giggled, the champagne was starting to make my head fuzzy.
"What's so special about me." I laughed.
"That's why we have the test, if you pass, you can join here every day. I hope you make it."
"I'm confused." I was slurring my words. Alexis grabbed the champagne glass from my hand.
"Want a refill?" he laughed. God, I was acting like such an idiot. I couldn't even have two glasses without making a complete fool of myself. I was so embarrassed.
"Umm no thanks, I better go now. It was nice spending time with you Alexis."
"Why don't you sta- " I interrupted him before he could speak.
"No, no it's fine. Bye!" I dashed off.
Now I was lost. I was running around the place, trying to find my dormitory in this maze. I didn't even know where I was. I was so drunk. As I ran around desperately I heard people whispering, about me. I must've looked so out of place with all these gorgeous people. I don't think I was even supposed to be here. The rooms here were so luxurious, compared to where all the people that were being tested were kept. I needed to get back before I was caught by someone. I should've just stayed with Alexis.
I was running around frantically now. I felt so overwhelmed. I suddenly burst into tears. My surroundings were now blurred, which didn't help at all. Maybe I would never get back, and maybe I could be caught by a guard and killed right there and then. I was running and sobbing, until I suddenly crashed into something solid.
"Yasmin?" A confused voice spoke. It soon turned to anger. "Yasmin! Where the hell have you been? I've been looking everywhere!" It was Trent. I found comfort in the familiar voice and flung my arms around him. I started crying even more. I felt his warm hands hold my back.
"Shush! It's okay now, we can go back, it's okay." he spoke quietly.
I was so embarrassed. The amount of times this guy has seen me cry was too much. Him and Alexis were all I had here. But Trent was a murderer! How could I trust him? I couldn't believe he would do such a thing. As I thought about it, I felt nauseous in my stomach. I missed my family so much. I felt so alone. I felt a massive pain pulse through my whole body, a pain of loss. I collapsed on the floor.
