I Turned to Myself

I turned to left, to look at my past
Those soulful smiles didn't dare to last
I turned to the right, to look at my past
The darkness took over way too fast

I turned to the skies in hope for light
Only to find the reflection of my plight
I turned to the rivers to wash away the weakness
Only to find myself in a deeper mess

I stretched out my hand
For someone to hold
For someone to warm
When the world gets cold
For someone who reads
The story untold

I turned to myself and let the tale unfold
