After a couple hours of practicing new moves and trying different keys on the keyboard, we change back into our school clothes and pack up, getting ready to leave for the last period of the day.

"I really liked that dance you showed me today. It wasn't as hard as it looked in the video, and with more practice I feel like it would be the best dance you've done for that class"

"The teacher always makes things look complicated when really they aren't" i say putting my bag on my back. We walk off the stage and start heading towards my locker. As we walk i see a big crowd of teenaged girls in a huddle, talking and screeching away. I can only imagine what they are all crowded around until i catch the eye of the person I've been avoiding all day.

"Jeez, would this ever stop?" Dani asked once we got to our lockers.

"I don't believe so, we have a long few months ahead of us. We might as well get used to it"

I grab the text book and notebook I need for English and put everything else into my locker. I grab a pencil from the front of my bag and put it into my back pocket. Once I close my locker I see four familiar faces starring back at me.

"Heyy paisley, how are you doing today?" AJ asked while smiling like a mad man

"I'd do even better if you weren't smiling at me like a crazy person. Hey Vontae, Derek and James. Nice to see you all actually here for the first time in awhile"

Those four decided to make an appearance into me and Dani's life a year ago. We all had homeroom together for our Junior year and sat at the same table. Vontae made a joke about Derek being as red as tomato when me and my sister came to sit down and we all laughed. After that day we've been good friends. I wouldn't say we're close but we're close enough for me to know that I could trust them with anything.

"Nice to see you too Paisley" Derek said with the biggest smile on his face. I've always known he had a bit of a crush on me, but I never really hung out with just him so I don't really know how he is personally. He is really cute don't get me wrong, but I don't really think I see me and him together. Matter of fact i don't see me with anyone.

We all talk for a bit longer at the lockers when two people walk up to the guys. "Thank god we got away. That was the most autographs I've written in ye— oh hello" Jacob stops in his tracks when he sees me and Danielle standing there.

Dani gives him a look and rolls her eyes while i'm trying not to give attention to the person literally looking into my soul. "And that is our que to leave" I said once the bell rang signaling the three minutes left until we're late to class.

"Hey wait, we're all going to Marcos after lunch then to Jake and Jacob's place if y'all want to come along?" James said, mostly talking to Dani. He also has a crush on her and has been trying to get with her since we met.

"I don't think that would be the best idea, especially because we aren't the biggest fans of your little boy couple over there" Dani said closing her locker in the process. We both turn and start heading to English without looking back. Not only does Dani not wanna be around the dude that completely shot her down, but I don't wanna be around Jake. Every chance he got when he seen me all he wanted to do was apologize. I'm surprised he didn't start trying to while we were there.

"In all seriousness though, we need to start on this project for Mrs. Beatrice before we do anything fun" I said grabbing the English homework from my text book.

We were sitting on the floor in my room getting all of our homework done. I just finished with science and she finished with music and then we just started playing around. It lasted for a good fifteen minutes until I seen the time getting later and later. Our English teacher doesn't like half ass work as much as the next teacher and I'll be damned if I get a bad grade. I'm already nearly failing her class with a high D.

"You're right, this essay about plants isn't gonna write itself" Dani opens her laptop and begins typing away. I do the same when I suddenly get a notification. I click on the twitter icon to see what it was and see that Jake updated his feed for the third time today. Any normal person would think that was a little over the top, but then I remember, he isn't normal. Him nor his brother are the least bit normal. They are both just stuck up brats who only care about there fame. I havn't seen one thing about them doing any good for anyone but themselves.

I lock my phone and put my full attention in the assignment. I get in my groove when I hear a knock on the front door. "who could possibly be here this late at night?"

Me and Dani get up and walk to the front, making sure to turn on the lights as we continue down the stairs. We get to the front door as whoever is on the other side proceeds to pound on it. "I'm coming, im coming" I scream as I put my hand in the knob. I open the door and the people I meet eyes with are the two people I have never expected to see at all. The people who abandoned me and my sister when were nothing but kids. The woman who was so high on drugs could never hear the screams and cries coming from around the house. The man who not only mentally but physically abused me and Dani, and took the most precious thing from me that I will never be able to get back.

"What do y'all want?" I asked, immediately pissed at the people who were standing on the other end of the house

"Now is that any way to greet your mother and I? I thought I taught you better than that. Maybe your in need of another lesson young lady, to get your priorities back together" Liam exclaimed. He pushed inside, moving me by the shoulders and nudging Dani out the way.

"Get off of her" Dani came over to where we were and put her hand on his arm in attempt to move him, but he swung his arm around and slapped her in her face hard enough for her to fall to the ground.

I run to her side to make sure she's okay then look up in disbelief. "What do yall want? We don't have anything for you"

"Yeah yeah, cut the shit" my 'mother' said while walking over to where Liam is. "We don't want anything you have. But we are gonna be staying here for awhile until Liam gets that place back situated for us to move back"

"What? Absolutely not" Danielle said getting ready to stand up. Liam started walking fast over to her but I stood up to protect her.

"Leave. Her. Alone" we stare each other down, with me trying to show dominance and him beating me to it in every way, shape, and form.

"Mm this one has a backbone now I see. I like that" He licks his lips and forms the devilish smile I've fought to keep out of my head for as long as I can remember. "While we are here, you both will show us nothing but respect. Understood? No back talk, no smart ass comments, and definitely no miss behaving. You know what happens when you do that, now don't you little miss princess?" He says putting his hand on my chin and pulling it up to look at him in his eyes. I snatch away and grip onto Danis hand tighter than I had it.

"Good, now get out my face"

We both turn and race back upstairs. We go back to my room and lock the door. "I can't believe they are here. This is so like them" Dani said walking into the bathroom that's in my room and looking at her face. There's a big red hand print that was left when he hit her, and in matter of time her face could be swollen. I grab my ice pack from my mini fridge and I give it to her.

"Let's just not even worry to much about it hm? Let's just get ready for bed, finish these assignments and go to sleep. The faster we sleep the faster they will be long out of here"

We both make that agreement and continue on our homework. Once it's done, we change into our night clothes, and climb into my bed. I convinced her to sleep in here with me for the night just in case Liam tries to hurt her while I'm sleeping. It wasn't long before Danielle was snoring next to me, but knowing that those two are down stairs in my house snuggling up on my couch there was no way in hell I was sleeping. I wanna make sure she sleeps and wakes up with no harm done to her.
