On a chilly winter's night, Kim looked up in the sky but found nothing. Ever since her father died she wished that the heavens would give her a sign that he could still see her, that he was still there, but sadly there has been no signs of him after he was run over by a drunk driver. She wished that she could only avenge her father, but sadly the drunk driver got away and hadn't even left any evidence that he was even there. No one could ever trace the man, but he did leave behind sorrow.

Kim's father had always told her to look to the sky when she was lost and then she would be found, but after he died, it never worked the same way it once did. She tried it every night for seven years but it was no hope. After wiping the tears from her face she went inside. Her mother had just finished making dinner when she came in and sat down. Her mother looked very concerned "Kim dear, why do you look so sad" Kim sniffled and said "I was just thinking about dad again" her mother turned more sympathetic and said "I know but it's been seven years now, and he wouldn't have wanted us to grief him for this long" Kim sighed "I know mom I just really miss him". As Kim ate, she thought of how her father would always talk about his day at the dinner table and occasionally tell jokes. Kim smiled as she remembered him laughing so hard that milk came out of his nose.

Kim finished dinner and felt just a little better, that night she stayed up and wondered what her dad would do if he was still there. He was normally a nice guy. She smiled as she remembered how great of a guy he was, but she had decided that she should move on and she figured that he would want her to move on.

She finally was able to get some sleep that night now that she had thought of how her dad would feel if he were there with her right now. She had a dream that night, she could see her father but it was different, he was pointing into the sky but it had clouds that spelled out something. She looked harder and it spelled out... I love you. She suddenly woke up crying, she then realized that it wasn't a dream, it was a message from her father. She got up and went to the window and in the sky she saw a message, you're amazing. At that moment she realized that her dad could communicate with her still and she felt just a little bit better.

She woke up the next morning, feeling better and refreshed for the first time in months. She went downstairs for breakfast but all she found was a note, it said " Going out to find a job today, egg and bacon sandwich is in the fridge today. Make smart choices."

Kim heated up the sandwich in the microwave but while she waited she looked outside again just to make sure she wasn't just imagining things. As she looked out the window for another sign, the microwave beeped behind her, she then went back to the microwave and grabbed her sandwich. As she sat at the table she realized that there didn't seem to be anything written into the clouds so she got up and looked, and there was nothing, so she went back to the table with tears in her eyes then realizing, her dad is truly gone.
