I could feel her eyes on me as I stormed into the city hall.  A small group of fleeting mortals not noticing my presence. I could have killed them. She followed behind me frantically, confusion taking her thoughts, but the thrill of my actions keeping her alert. “Where are you going?” she asked, “Why are we at city hall?”

“Because Love,” I replied, my tone the usual mixture of sarcastic and formal, the 1919 timeline architecture gasping all around us, my voice barely filling its mind, “I need to take back what is rightfully mine. You see, no matter what my siblings may tell you, I built this city. This…” I stopped as her eyes watched, I spun index finger pointed at a right angle into the sky, “This is all me. My doing. My creation.” He continued walking onwards.

“Yes,” she stated, catching up to me, “But what do you mean take back?”

“When I was originally exiled by my brother, Marcel. He took this city from me. In the months I was gone, he allowed the mortals more of a lenient chance at playing god. I plan to rectify that.”

She followed me as I continued as I headed my storm towards the Mayor’s office. Mayor Evian Elaine. Nice woman. Got along well with Marcel. Not so much with me. Her constant act of having no fear of me was one I thoroughly enjoyed. As I proceeded to the office, an officer man stood in my way. “Sir,” he stated sternly, “No unauthorized persons past this point.”

I smiled sarcastically, “Well, it is pleasing that I am authorized. Tell Mayor Elaine to open the door, or I shall kick you through it.”

“Is that a threat?” the officer growled.

“No,” I replied a smug looked across my face, “It’s a promise”. He stared at me. I didn’t like that. Within seconds the guard went flying through the another door. Two other guards drew their firearms and fired upon me. Well, the blur of me. I snap the first guard’s neck, then tore the other’s tongue out through his heart.  The remaining mortals scattered. But not for long. I laughed as within matter of seconds, I knocked many of the mortal’s unconscious, and served the guards a less merciful fate. Screeches of two women halted me. I turned to see Katerina and Evian starring at me. I blurred up to the major, grabbed her by her neck and slammed her into a nearby wall. “Hello Elaine,” I sneered, “We have a bit of business to discuss”. I blurred into her office and drove her back first into the desk, slamming and locking the door behind me. Katerina banged her fists against the door, and shouted as we continued our discussion.

“Nikolaus,” the mayor said through gritted teeth, a tone of annoyance and surprise “I thought you were exiled?”

“Not anymore sweetie,” I replied, still sneering, “Now, on to matters at hand. I want my city back.”

“What? Your brothers, Marcel, Matt. They own this-”

“I know that. My brothers however, have ruined our families control over this city. You mortals mean nothing. You are nothing. Therefore, your decisions should not have any effect on this city. My brothers allowed you to play god. Do not think for a second I shall allow you do to the same.”

“I’m not scared of you Nik.”

“You should be. You see, it doesn’t matter whether my brothers control this city or not. Whether they have your permission, or your unworthy ‘key to the city’. I built this place. This, this is mine. You will give it back to me. Or I shall show you want true suffering is, and even my brothers will not be able to stop me”. I pinned her against the desk, the annoyance of the constant screaming and banging coming from Katerina continued to annoy me. I turned my eyesight towards the door and shouted, “Enough with the racket. One more sound out of you and I kill the mayor!”
