Being best friends with the two most popular boys in high school is like riding a rollercoaster. We have our ups and downs and while it can be a scary feeling, I just can't help myself when the opportunity comes to see them again.

Since childhood we've never been apart. Growing up, they were always by my side. When most people saw us, they initially thought I was one of their sisters, not really minding the close bond we had. But over the years, people became wary of me and the feelings that could potentially appear from being so close to them. And let's just say that didn't go well with fan girls, the many they had.

Of course I didn't mind it, I've never really cared what others thought of me. But after so long, the words get to you. And that leads up to this moment.

I was on the roof of my house, staring at the stars cross legged. Today was a especially bad day and I just couldn't keep my feeling inside much longer. So, to relieve stress, I come up here and look at the stars. They've always found a way to comfort me.

"Oh no. You only come up here when something's bothering you." A familiar voice says.

I chuckle softly as I look in my neighbors backyard. Standing near the fence splitting our properties was my close friend, and neighbor, Laurence.

"Well look who it is. What brings you out here so late?" I ask.

"I should be the one asking you that," He says with a soft smile. "Give me a second, I just need to get something then I'll come join you." He gives me a thumbs up before running inside his house.

I let out a shaking breath, relieved and annoyed he's taking the time to come and check on me. But I wouldn't expect anything less from that idiot.

While I wait for Laurence I glance back at the stars. They always fascinated me. How they all have their place in the world, in the galaxy. In a way, I guess I resented stars. Why do they have a permanent spot in the universe while I don't? A ball of gas already has its life goal and I don't even know how to sort out my own feelings.

I'm pulled out of my thoughts when I hear Laurence struggle up the roof, causing me to giggle.

"Need some help there?" I ask, offering a hand.

He laughs and shakes his head, eventually making his way to the top of the roof. Before he gets settled he wraps one of his jackets around my shoulders, zipping it up before sitting down next to me.

"Is this what you were getting before coming here?" I ask, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"Yeah, it's cold out and your just sitting here in a tank top. I don't know how you haven't freezed yet." He says, placing an arm around my waist.

We both laugh softly, taking in the scenery of the beautiful night sky.

"So, care to tell me whats on your mind?" He asks.

I hum. "Sometimes, people are just too judgmental. They just need to mind their own business and not get involved in mine."

"Was it Ivy?" He asks again.

"Yeah..." I sigh, snuggling up to him.

I feel Laurence tense for a moment before holding me closer. It startled me a little. When I say I'm very close to the boys, I mean VERY close. So for Laurence to tense at my touch, must mean there's something wrong. Right?

Removing my head from his shoulder, his eyes meet with mine. "Is there something bothering you too? You seem up tight." I ask, concern lacing my voice.
