The cold nipped gently at her ankles. The silk from her wrap draped gently over her shoulders, ruffled with the icy breeze as the twin suns began to lower in the distance. She had begun to love the chill that came after a boiling hot day under the suns.

She had spent the day in the market, gathering food she would need for the week. Juicy berries, and exotic vegetables that would make a fine feast when she returned from work. Her stomach grumbled just thinking of it. When she turned the corner her destination came into view.

The loud music pumping into her ears, and the neon lettering lighting up the nights sky from miles away. Not the best place to find yourself when you're in hiding but in her profession she didn't have much of a choice. The bouncer paced outside the door, a large burly gamorrean by the name of Junga. His large ivory tusks, and pig snout began to sniff at her and she recoiled inwardly.

"Good evening Junga," she purred at the gamorrean.

It was better to have friends then enemies, if any of them knew about her true identity she would surely be turned over in a second. The bouncer just snorted loudly at her, he wasn't really a creature of language, except to laugh and grunt at the other girls at the bar. He stood aside at the door and she sauntered past into the loud den. It couldn't even be considered a room more like a hollowed out cave, half underground and cool. They weren't scheduled to open for thirty more minutes so she made her way to the dressing room.

Her feet stuck slightly to the floor and made a slight clicking sound as she waved casually at the bartenders. In the dressing room sat two other women, a Terran like herself, and a twi'lek. Both were stunning, the Terran Sazarah was blonde with long curls twirling down her back, thin as a rail but with rather large assets that made her wonder if she had them surgically enhanced on another planet. The twi'lek Moka was a sapphire blue in color with a body sculpted from the tales of the goddesses from her home world. They both looked her up and down as she entered and neither made a move to greet her. She was used to this, it's hard to be friends with someone that you are in competition for credits with.

"Oh no, I was hoping you would have gotten eaten today. Pity," Sazarah whispered loudly.

Moka let out a high pitched giggle, "Oh Saza you really are the worst."

She ignored both of them as they began to laugh maniacally together. She took a seat at her mirror and looked at her reflection. Her dark brown hair curled gently as they sat on her shoulders, her body was shapely for an exotic dancer, she was not as thin as the others but she was perfect for the assets she displayed. It was no wonder the others hated her so much, she made more credits in one night as they did in three days. Being the newest had its advantages. She leaned forward to begin putting on her makeup when her hand stilled. The bright green eyes staring back at her begin to wet as she took in the scars on her face. The night flashing back in her mind like it only happened a moment before.

Flashback

Crack

The sound reverberated off the walls of the cell she was in. In the center she knelt down, hands on the floor.

Crack

The blood began to pool beneath her as her back split open.

Crack

The whip slashed at her like a vicious viper on a mission to kill. Until the sound of it dropping from the wielders grasp echoed throughout the small room. She didn't make a sound, didn't breath as the footsteps grew louder and closer. Down by her hands a pair of shiny black shoes appeared and the wearer knelt in front of her.

Her head was ripped up sharply by the man his fingers digging into her scalp. "Oh Nina, why did you make me do this to you? Why did you try to leave me?" he whispers brokenly, "why don't you love me?!"

Her head was caught between his two stronger ones as he dragged the knife across her right eye in an x pattern. Slashing through her skin as she screamed for help, she knew would never come. He threw her forward, smacking her head like a rag doll on the cement floor. She whimpered and tried to hold in the tears because every teardrop burned her eye again and again. The man stepped closer to her again and knelt down.

"If you ever try to leave me again, I will destroy this galaxy looking for you. And everyone in the universe will know you belong to me," his voice made her sick to her stomach. His footsteps retreating before the iron door slammed behind him.

"Jada....Jada...Jada!!" a voice shouted behind her, slamming her out of her memories.

"What?" she asked confused, turning to see her floating toydarian employer looking pissed. It was hard to remember her name on this planet.

"Whatarya doing girl get your face on, time to make us some money, yeah!" he shouts at her flying towards the door.

Nina looked around the room, in a panic noticing the other two dancers already gone and the sounds of chatter coming from the other room. She quickly finished getting ready, putting heavy makeup to conceal some of her scar. Her black sequins shimmered in the light as she wrapped the low cut skirt around her waist. All her outfits had to be specially tailored since she couldn't show her back. There wasn't enough makeup in the world to hide those scars.

When she pushed past the beads and into the room, everything shifted. Her body went into work mode and the fake smile plastered itself onto her face. She made the rounds to all the usual customers, asking after them and making personal notes about them she had picked up from previous visits. When the lights flashed three times, she made her apologies and walked towards the stage.

A small raised platform sat in the middle of the space, with a silver pole reaching high into the ceiling. She grasped the pole, her fingers finding a familiar path. The music slowed down and she performed an act that was part seduction and part acrobatics. Her heart rate sped up as the music slowed to a close. The room exploded with cheers, credits flowed through the air.

She came down from her high and began collecting credits from near her feet when the energy in the room shifted. Her breath was knocked out of her chest as her eyes slowly rose to find the cause of her distress, a Mandalorian.
