Kairi gulped, looking up at the building with a nervous look in his eye.
The small waisian had booked a interview to be the industry's boss's assistant, his "soon to be boss" being one of the richest man in the whole world. How he got it? Kairi assumed it was luck. As if god had given him a chance to get his future started up.
Sooner or later the boy had broken himself from his trance and walked through the front doors, being greeted with bright shiny lights and marble floors. Chandeliers that look to cost more that his rent.
Kairi thought it was beautiful. He wasn't the richest of the rich but he wasn't exactly poor either. His mom worked 2 jobs to keeps the family sustained. He always tried to help her around the house, pity filling him up when he watches her come home exhausted, dragging herself up to her room and lowly muttering a "Good Night"
But now, he was old enough to work. He was old enough to help his family.
Kairi let out a shaky breath and walked up to the front desk, giving the lady typing away on her computer a small smile. She hadn't noticed his presence at first, not after he slightly cleared his throat. She looked over to him and smiled back at him.
"Good evening sir, what could I help you with?"
"Hi uhm, I'm here for my interview with Mr. Polibio?"
She had paused for a moment, staring him up and down. The lady smiled at him again and gave a small nod, going back to her computer and typing away.
What was that? He thought to himself. Kairi looked down and examined his clothes. Is it what I'm wearing? Whats wring with my outfit?
Kairi had decided to wear long sleeve shirt, some jeans, and his checkered vans. Sure it wasn't the most fancy outfit but it was all he had, and he sure wasn't about to buy a suit that he probably won't wear again.
"Okay well then-"
She paused again, staring at the screen, squinting a bit before looking back at Kairi with a smile.
"-uhm young man, you can have a seat in the waiting room. Mr. Polibio will see you shortly" Kairi have a small "okay" before walking back to a empty seat and pulling out his phone and clicking on Ale's contact.
Ale 😎
Ale I'm having a mental breakdown
what if I don't get the job :(You're going to do just fine Kai

deserve you. Thanks ale, I really needed that :)
"Uhm kairi Cosentino? Mr. Polibio will see you now"
Kairi felt his heart drop down to his ass, he was really nervous and he didn't want to screw this up. It was his one chance to help his mom and Maiya have a better future.
"Uhm y-yes thats me" He got up and walked up the the women standing by the front desk. She smiled and motioned him to follow her, Kairi hurriedly walking behind her.
She led him down the hallway and into a elevator, clicking button 85. Kairi gulped again, staring at the bright red numbers that were increasing by the second.
78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84-
DING!
The lady walked out of the elevator, leading him down another hallway and turning a corner. He was now in front of two large double doors, nervously messing with the belt loops of his pants.
"No need to be nervous sweety"
She opened the door and smiled at him. Kairi smiled back and walked through the door, looking back at her and giving her a small "thanks"
She nodded and closed the door.
He let out a shaky breath and faced back forward, meeting eyes with the one and only Mr. Polibio that was sitting in a leather rolling chair with a smirk on his face.
"So you must be Kairi. I'm not gonna lie I was expecting a girl but this is way better"
What.
