Ryan's POV

Fuck! I recognised that body. His red hair and nunchucks in his right hand only meant it was Alex Noles. One of my best guards. I may be a warrior but as long as I got all this biology shit correctly, I was still a girl and I had hormones. Tears threatened to leak out but I wanted to remain strong for the others.

"Everyone. The damage is done. And we can't do anything about it. One of our fellow guards is now up there standing beside Nyx. We should celebrate his success instead of sulking over his lifeless body. But this will not be taken lightly. Currently, we are on high alert. We will have to contact the other schools to tell them and we will be dispatched." I ordered them.

"Really? After a death of one of our own, you want to go protect others? What about us Ry? What if we end up like him?" I heard someone from the back holler back at me. Typical. It was Lionel Waters. He always had something to say. He was a cocky bastard but one of my best fighters. Some of his friends started to talk amongst themselves, whispering to each other on how wrong my descision was. If I was a girl, I would throw a fit but... Oh wait. I am.

"Listen you ungrateful bastard. You have pledged to the Warriors. Protecting the people around you. If you're too much of a pussy for the job, the rest of us will go and do what we voluntarily signed up for in the first place while you and your bunch of self conceited assholes can go pay a nice visit to the Captain." I spat at him. He tensed up and didn't say anything back.

" I think I make myself perfectly clear. We leave after the meeting with the Captain. Go get ready. This won't take long." I said. I turned around and heard the scrambling of feet behind me.

"Slow dow Johnson. I'm coming with you. Don't want you getting hurt as well." I heard Flinn call after me.

"You know very well I can handle myself just fine Parker. Go and get ready with the others. I'll be fine." I smiled at him, looking into his moss green eyes.

I'm not gonna lie here, he is ridiculously handsome. Strong jawline, his untamed dirty blonde hair and his eyes. Don't lie to me you would want a piece of him but I can't. He's my fighter. That's all. Friends yes but no more. I don't even have time for boys and those crush stuff.

"Hey Johnson you alright? You zoned out a bit there." He said, waving his hands in front of my face. I snapped back to reality and smiled.

"Yeah I'm good alright I'll see you soon" I waved it off pushed him so he could join the others. When he finally left, I quickly left for the Captain's office.

I opened the door to see the big, burly man with jet black hair and hazel brown eyes. He's also my Dad. A shock right?

"Why did you call me in here Sir?" I know. Weird calling your own dad Sir but during training time, he insisted on solely Captain to leader relationship.

"Well recently, we've run short of Directors." He started. Directors were the people who helped us track anyone or anywhere. Sometimes it would be more secluded so we won't know about it. We weren't really allowed to travel outside. So we mostly hired humans but we kept them in another part of the Headquarters.

"We just hired a new one. Name's Jace Hailyn. He's great with this place and know everywhere and everyone. One thing is, we also need another coach. I know you run daily training but I need someone to push you and the others harder. Bad things are coming and we need to be ready. So, Mr Hailyn here's also in charge of that." Wait WHAT?!

"Sir you can't be serious. He's Human!" Emphasising on the word Human.

"Yes but he's very strong and known all around NYC for his amazing football skills. One of America's best quarterback. He'll come on very handy." I groaned.

"But-"

"No buts Johnson. Get going. I heard there was an emergency evacuation." I sighed and nodded. He dismissed and I left.

Damn I hate humans.
