Jayden's Sophomore Year

Chapter Three

(Jayden's P.O.V)

I stir awake to a pair of hands shaking me. I open my eyes to see Aaron looking at me with anticipation in his eyes. I rub my eyes and shoo him away from my face. Once I'm somewhat awake, he stands up and begins pacing in front of me. He has one hand across his chest and the other holding his chin as if he's really focused on whatever he is thinking about in his mind.

After a good 5 minutes of me sitting cross-legged watching him pace, his phone rings. He swiftly takes it out his pocket, looks at the caller id, and places the phone to his ear. After mumbling into his phone for 30 seconds he hangs up and glances at me from where he's standing. "So, your brother just arrived at my house with your stuff. He asked which room to put you in and I told him whichever room you'd like best. But now for the main reason I brought you here."

I sighed relived. "Finally. I was beginning to think that you had forgotten."

"No I didn't forget, just got sidetracked a little."

"Yeah, a little you say."

"Shut the f*ck up. Now if you'll let me start explaining we can get this over with."

"The only person you're waiting on is yourself." Aaron sighed loudly and grabbed the bridge of his nose. "Are you done being a smarta**?"

I laughed and nodded my head. He chuckled silently at himself and started pacing again. "You ready? Cause it's gonna be a lot to take in." Again, I nodded my head and waited for him to continue. Once he found the right way to start, he crossed his arms over his chest and began.

"Okay so, first off yes I am a wolf. Zayden is a wolf, and your mother is a wolf too. Before you ask any questions let me at least get through the basics. As of right now there are five major packs around the world; Moonstone, Black Sky,  Silver Creek, Shadow Storm, and The Arisen. I am the alpha of the Moonstone Pack. The max betas an alpha can have is 3 because of power. An alpha shares part of their power with their betas to control the pack properly. I only chose 2 because I don't want them to have more power over the pack than I do. The first is your brother Zayden and the second is a friend of mine named Kai. You'll meet him when we get back to the house; well the pack house. Your mother is the alpha of the Silver Creek Pack, that's why you rarely see her. And because you're an alpha's daughter but not a werewolf that makes you a target to some rivaling packs. The Black Sky to be exact. That's the pack your ex Liam is the alpha of. He didn't tell you about it because it's considered felonious to tell someone that's not a wolf about us. We had to make sure you were one of us before letting you into this world. Before I continue do you have any questions?"

I just sat there dumb-folded. I didn't know how or what to feel. I mean I knew I wasn't completely human to begin with, but being a wolf. Not what I was expecting. When I finally got the words to form a sentence, it wasn't what I wanted to say. It was how I was feeling. "Okay first off; WHAT THE H*LL?! YOU JUST TELL ME THAT NOT ONLY MY BROTHER, BUT MY MOTHER AS WELL HAS BEEN KEEPING THE BIGGEST SECRET OF MY LIFE FROM ME AND YOU EXPECT ME TO WHAT, NOT HAVE QUESTIONS?! YOU KNOW D*MN WELL I'LL HAVE QUESTIONS! YOU CAN'T JUST-" before I could rant anymore he held up his hand palm forward and cut me off.

"Yes I know. I actually expected much worse but this is a good start I guess. But for now-" as soon as he got that sentence out his mouth he whipped his head to the left. His eyes flickered red for just a second before he turned back to look at me with an anger clouded expression. "Sh*t, we're out of time. Get on my back." He crouched down without another word. I quickly got up and hopped on his back, securely fixing myself so I don't fall off. Not even a second after I was on his back he took off running northeast.

About 2 hours later Aaron finally slows his pace and starts walking normally. I'm confused as to why he just stopped running but I'm not complaining. "Did they stop following us," I ask quietly. He just nods his head and replies, "They stopped a while back. I'm just slowing down because we're home." And with that I lift my head to see the most beautiful house I've ever seen.
